I'm this close to quitting because it'd be a better option mentally to search for a job in this market than have to worry about having one 24/7.

@110 Spend months or years unemployed in this market wondering how you're going to pay rent and food, car payments, gas for said car, working for Oracle WILL look like the gold old days.

@OP - Be grateful you even have a job. Many other former Oracle employees who got RIF'd and are still out of work would love to have your job. I know people who have been out of work for many months and even longer.
So, Chumley - If you think "the grass is greener elsewhere" right now, you're a fool. Between ever-expanding use of AI and the continued employment of H1Bs, the IT job market in the US is in the toilet.
Job market is equally bad if you are it/cybersecurity
After you get RIF'ed and cannot find another job you will look back at your time at Oracle as the good old days.
Don't quit. Keep the bench warm and collect your paycheck until you get severance.
@at Give it a few months. How's your network? You're going to need it to find another job.
@at same here, got kicked to the curb after 25 years + and many many rounds of layoffs. After the first round changed my trajectory and started maxxing out every retirement program I could, Oracle even matched some of it to the tune of $31K over the years. That work and time in the market + compounding led to a 2 comma figure when all was said and done.
The layoff and the way it was handled SU-KED but us boy/girl scouts who were prepared came out pretty well. Now our friends still there are telling us how much the new order su-ks and how bad morale is, that they are 'doing the needful' as they have to but looking to leave for a better gig as soon as they can. Hope the best for everyone, Riffed and not yet...
@OP Got laid off March 31st. Sux having to go through the meat grinder of job hunting now and not having a regular income, but I am 100% content not having to deal with O bs any longer. Life without O is amazing.
You probably won't have to wait very long. Shortly after you get laid off you will be tired of thinking about finding a new job. Look for you next job while you are still getting paid to do this one.
You want to stay.
Better to worry about getting laid off while collecting a paycheck then to worry about where your next paycheck is coming from and how will you pay rent/mortgage/groceries.
I know how you feel, but hold fast. Collect that paycheck, so many of us aren't and jobs are few and far between.
