Received surplus notice today. L2 IC 26 years in Dallas. Townes org with exceeds targets in last 2/3 years. Raise the bar recipient 4 years ago. Wrong place at the wrong time. Anyone can be impacted by this machine. Keep looking forward!

It's hard to understand how we can have layoffs while simultaneously discussing the need for more contractors due to a lack of internal resources for project work. Just doesn't add up.
ATT needs an Indian origin CEO. If they want to be Faang company get the stink out and replace. T stock will skyrocket.

We know the union guys can’t grasp what the OP is saying. We have all seen this happen to the occasional top performer. Usually due to their project getting cut, whole team got whacked or somebody above you doesn’t like you. Yes it happens.
You’re over 50 and are too high on salary guide. It would be great if Stinkbomb and McLovin could be replaced by H1Bs or a think tank from Chennai. The “executives” of this company are financial arsonists and destroy the value of anything there hands touch.

@aa HQ doesn’t make you safe. I know 2 ppl who (stupidly) made the move and ended up getting whacked anyway.
If you are as amazing of a worker as you claim, you must be a complete pain in the a$$ to work with and a cancer on the team.
We all have one or two. And WE love when we get to surplus them.
Also HR would push back on a top rating employee being surplused so you are either lying or you are a REALLY terrible employee.

Why will they surplus you? Is it because of age or your project has no prospects? You are in HQ too and a great performer. This doesn't make sense.
