What does everyone recommend we do if our boss puts a meeting invite on 6/17? Does that mean we are toast? Has anyone considered taking PTO or blocking off their calendar day on 6/17 with more important meetings? I am just going to say that our application has an urgent security concern that needs to be addressed or it risks being shutdown. It is a joke how this is being handled at our company.

Tell e you are Gen Z without telling me. Grow the eff up.
Hide under your blanket all you want. The thunderstorm is still outside.
If you’re on the surplus list, you’re on the list. They’ll just make time to catch you some time. If you go on leave for medical, they’ll wait until you come back. PTO? When you come back. Funeral leave? When you get back.
Excellent plan Craig!! you cannot get fired on your day off foshow!!
after that call in sick for a week then this will all be over and you can go back to work like nothing happened!!
company only has a few days to fire you and if they can't find you then you are good!!
Decline the meeting with a response stating he/she will still get their TPS reports…
@aa 6/17 is notice day for 7/1 off payroll.
They will still hunt you down and find you.
Get to the call 7 minutes early to ensure you get that severance and get out of this toxic environment! "Video content to the phone is the future." -Randall
Great question!
Based on this post, you need to be added to the surplus list if not currently on it.
Hmmm Adult much
You can run, but you can’t hide!
The clock is ticking and your time is coming…..
Welcome to T
Suggest a new time after the Costco run
@a1 I don’t know. Smokey got fired on his day off.
Sure, if you are unavailable they will just remove you from the layoff list. Excellent plan.
Just take PTO on 6/17. This company is a massive joke.
lol! Such a fantastic plan! Ignore it and it most certainly will go away! Hahahahaha
Be thankful you’ve had 4 years of continued employment after the corporate RTO announcement was made.
Most likely nothing.
You will be called even if on PTO. If you don’t answer you will be notified as soon as you answer or return to work. This is not something you can dodge. Praying for everyone as I hear this is a large impacted group across many teams and organizations.
If on PTO they simply move on to the next person on the list and lay them off instead of you. Best to take PTO and keep yourself safe.
Do the math. Pay periods are the 7th and the 22nd of every month. Subtract 2 weeks. That puts you somewhere around the 9th or 24th.
If you get a meeting on those dates, you can assume it's two weeks' notice. Getting a meeting on the 17th, that's just a meeting on the 17th.
“…blocking off their calendar day on 6/17 with more important meetings. “
LOL.
This one kind of trumps the others, no?
If on PTO, you will be called at home with notification.
How the he-l you gone get fired on your day off!
Best to join the call and get info first hand, taking the day off or skipping the call isn’t going to change anything
Just decline it.
Don’t worry. They’ll only get rid of the losers that aren’t helping.
Call in sick!
Take PTO. They cannot lay you off if you are not there right?
