Unattended logged in Laptop/Desktop left at Office => 100% RTO Compliance

But Employee visited maybe once a week or month. Additionally, there are various tools and adapters available that allow for remote access to different ports without violating any Information Security controls or processes (very simple tools on Amazon/Ebay).

The introduction of the USB New RTO policy, which includes a 2026 Talent and Performance Metric that logs hours at a hub or triggers a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP), has become a subject of humor within the corporate environment, often leading to memes that ridicule the corporate productivity policy and how not to be a CEO or how not to treat your employees.

I was on medical leave for 2 weeks in March, but workday says I am in office 22 days. Yes, I had left my laptop in the office premises. Upon notifying my manager, he suggested that we disregard the requirements of the RTO, as its messed up.

You know they are going to start checking IP log in time and exit time. When there is no break in 22 days for 24 hours each day….just saying.

@ap You put it one one of the dozens of cubes that nobody ever uses because nobody comes in for real.

@ah What does Trump, DEI, experience or nepotism have to do with RTO? Stay on topic!

@af there are many who got hired (with officer titles) just because they KNEW the hiring manager (current boss) - nepotism or DEI requirements (beforeTrump). No one has a clue what they do despite the grandstanding words and presentations they talk. Their background (education/experience) does not seem to meet what they say they are doing or planning to do.

These lucky ones will continue to be employed given strong backup and support from immediate managers. I know a few in my own team.

@ae Honest question here. How did they get work done if their laptop was in the office for 22 days but they only came in 4 days? The bank doesn’t issue multiple devices that I know of. Did they do everything from their personal mobile device?

@ac You can in some locations/hubs. I know a few in my team who got perfect 100% RTO compliance by doing so (22 days), when they actually came in just 4 days.

How can you all leave your laptops with no assigned seats?

Unattended laptops just became the new coffee badging. So the sc--ws will get tightened more. New metric to measure compliance will have 3 parts: badge in that day, connect to corporate IP from that location, stay connected for some minimum threshold of time (which will not be shared so they can retroactively set it to 8 hours minimum). Mouse jigglers will follow. USB will counter strike with more surveillance software. Or maybe they could just manage the workforce my setting actual work goals and measuring against that instead of declaring internal warfare on employees who just want to get their jobs done. Were people getting their jobs done before during and after the pandemic? Performance evals will answer that. And when the answer is yes, what is the point of all this? Answer: there is none. It’s incompetence at the Exec Leadership level.

@a4 Hamm...I was in office for 13 days but on VDI, and it shows 0 work days for me with 0% compliance. I raised a Service Ticket but they closed it with no resolution. My manager is useless.

@a2 Me to. I only came in for 11 days but given my laptop was in office it shows 100% in-office attendance (22 adjusted possible working days).

U.S.Bank RTO Policy is JOKE - It just satisfies the GRAND (Slavery) mind set of SEVP of HR and CEO Gunjan. Such policies are designed to create demoralizing effect on the morale and ethical standards of U.S.based employees to voluntary leave so they can hire in India (The real strategy behind the move)

Same here - I was on vacation for two weeks (vacation/out of country), left my computer logged in at work - I see 22 days logged in workday with 100% compliance, despite my actual badge tap/in-office presence being limited to only four days. :-)

During my absence for the majority of March, I inadvertently left my laptop at the office. Upon my return, I noticed an anomaly in the recorded workday statistics, which indicated 22 adjusted possible working days with 100% in-office attendance. I promptly informed my manager about this discrepancy. She informed me that such data irregularities are common in her reports and advised me to disregard the figures for the time being, as the HR is diligently working to resolve the issue (but nothing changed since last 4 days - its still showing 100% compliance for me).
