Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Your Layoff Notification

We're all going to be laid off as soon as the company possibly can do so, if not sooner, because we're all being replaced via automation, off-shoring and outsourcing. I'm just grateful to have the nice termination package per labor contract for when the inevitable day comes when my position is surplussed.

You’re dreaming if you think the company is going to pay you two years pay to sit on the couch. Please stop the daydreaming and get back to work. You’ll be fired or worked to the bone before you ever get that severance.

The labor agreement i work under includes 104 weeks termination pay so I'm actually hoping to be surplussed, thus get two years pay and then start talking my pension, 401k distributions and social security.

There are plenty of online job postings. Almost all of them are fraudulent. AI preprocesses all applicants.
If you don't match keywords your application is rejected.
Don't believe it? Try it yourself!
Apply for a job with your real credentials. Then apply with a bogus application that meets all the criteria.
See you when the rejections come back.

Imagine the end of everything we know. This is soon coming, even sooner than you can imagine. This will be the end my friend. Satan's coming around the bend.

What are you talking layoffs for? This is a RTO site.

Settle down, chicken little bot. Everything will be fine. AI is not going to replace any jobs that actually add value. If Copilot can do your job, it should have never been a job in the first place.

Hey “ It's Not Gonna Be Pretty“

Shaddup with your doomsday nonsense.

Leave that for your doomsday pepper groups.

Economy always undergoes big changes. See the cotton gin, the assembly line, the computer, etc etc. All were going to leave everyone jobless.

@a3 going to be a lot of people going after those at the top when nobody can get a job. Who’s going to purchase your products and services when nobody can afford it any longer?

Starting to see space for lease signs popping up in my area. Don’t believe it will get as bad as the pandemic but believe it’s not something that gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling.

this is already starting, if my community board is any example. so many people can't find jobs right now.

Think about the amount of people in the not too distant future (due to all of these layoffs) who won't be able to find work, or enough work to cover their basic bills. They won't be able to pay their mortgage/rent, car payments, etc.

People will be homeless en masse.
People will be freaking out and totally losing their minds en masse.
It will be a battle for those left with income/their wits about them just to make it to the grocery store and back, unscathed.
Prepare accordingly.
