I came to AT&T believing in things. Hard work, learning from sc--w ups, helping my team. This place broke all of that out of me. When you make a mistake here, they don't use it to teach you. They use it against you. Teamwork means watching your back while management races you toward deadlines. Initiative isn't welcome. You do what you're told and nothing more. There's no real culture. Just constant watching, constant correcting, and always the sense that they're looking for reasons to cut people.

@a1 I stay for the employee appreciation event held once a year. Where else could I go to get a free fun-size bag of popcorn. It makes me feel so APPRECIATED!

Much of the job lose is all them useless federal workers drones that get paid extremely well, and when they retire get a real pension, with COLA and excellent healthcare. Unless the rest of us!
While the Kongress thinks of ways to reduce or eliminate Social Security, the pension benefits for federal works remain untouched - yet the fed deficit goes to infinity.
