Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

They're going to offshore every job they possibly can

I just hope they don't try to slap the AI label on every barely believable justification. That excuse has become tired already.

@jn Retired in their way I mean, not VRP. Very smart and kind people.

@jm That's awful. That team was one of the first places I worked at in my Cigna team. Lots of great people on that team. Thankfully, a few of them retired but really sad to hear that because they are some of the best people I have ever worked with and I highly regard them as individuals.

I remember I had a IT worker from INDIA who found me on social media, DM'd me and said "They're trying to relocate everyone to offshore to please investors, in the meantime look for another job" WTH that was crazy and he wasn't the only one that has told me that. I believe it, my supervisor admitted that they're planning on getting rid of an entire installation team.

@ea finally? I'm IT and it's been affecting companies I have worked at for the last 25 years.

@a4 Yep! And when the government finds out they can access DOD information I’m sure they’re going to be thrilled. No security risk there at all. This stupid company is doomed

Calling it AI is less public outrage inducing than calling it offshoring :)
