Employee monitoring

Does FIS use user tracking software to monitor our activity. I’ve noticed recently that my manager has been messaging me more frequently when it is a slow day. Really makes it hard to enjoy working here.

@r0 That's because you're keeping the laptop on your knee while completing the job! Please, just close the camera ;-)

@OP "They", must be monitoring me, everytime I go to the bathroom I get a "Rolling Eyes" emoji on my Teams.

@ja my past VPs, making 200-300k "worked" about 4-8 hours per week full remote, got away with it for a very long time. They were the executive equivalents of scam call centers. Many such cases.

@ja just hop on a teams call made only for yourself and then set your status to available. :)

My “manager” is away more than I am. Always running errands, getting food, taking kids or others here and there.

@g5 Oh, I think it is there. But it's not something managers (up to SVP) can see. I suspect it's only people in IT Security who are only bothered about 'big stuff' and not if you're using a mouse jiggler to stay green..

Yes there is software that they can install on your computer to monitor what you spend time doing, but you would be aware if it was on your computer. It’s not something the firm automatically installs.

i doubt much tracking. it's clear that csuite management doesn't care what you do

I agree, I can see what looks like someone with a telescope in a tree across from my house and I’m sure my phone is bugged.

As a current manager, I can only see online status in Teams. Can't see office attendance or activity on the PC or any other systems. The only exception i've experience is if someone access something on a not-allowed list or send something sensitive outside FIS (like to their personal email).

Even if they do your manager wouldn’t have access to this on daily basis

It's a VPN so they do have access to anything you do on the web for the most part. I cant imagine they sift through all of that though. It's likely filtered in some way to trigger suspicious alerts.

They have the ability to track when you go to the office via badge in / badge out. And VPN activity - when you are online and where you are working from.

@OP highly likely that the answer is yes. Disclaimer on logon screen says as much and the amount of background processes running at fairly high memory or CPU usage has increased over time.
