My prediction by 2020 intel will be at 70% data center dominance and quickly slidding.
Time to find a new career tech friends. The sleeping giant will no longer fund your diet for 6 fig salaries.
Worst thing intel did was price gouge with it's server cpu's.
The customer never forgets. It's why the leading tech companies have gotten behind AMD. AMD is not going price gouge. It's not been leading the war but it's going to win the war. My money's on AMD. Buy now or cry later.

So what do people think about the latest changes to the ACA healthcare plan
Democrats hate it. Some Republicans hate it. Trump loves it. Populists, what says you?
Any thoughts on how intel will fair in the cluster interconnects market?
Sounds like a resurgence of Ethernet vs infiniband, Aries and omnipath. Intel acquired these technologies and developed omnipath to be competive in this market segment but any opinions on success or failure? Did intel actually make a smart... — read more

Margin compression. Coming to a data center near you
Intel's data center growth was already slowing. This will put a halt to any additional growth. https://www.forbes.com/sites/aarontilley/2017/03/07/amd-readies-fight-against-intel-in-innovation-starved-data-center
Every morning you come in your office, do you expect the pink slip?
Come on be real, you know it's coming. It's "diversity" drive by Inhell.
Anyone know how long it typically takes for Intel to axe a site it acquires? Small locations?
We got acquired in 2013. I know it was not enough time when they did all the consolidations. I'm worried as they will need to reduce cap ex and space with dumping billions in a fab that will not be filled. They will need to cut as much as possible... — read more

Focal feedback in "trenches"
HR will issue guidance this week for managers. It is understood best performers will receive their feedback first starting Friday into early next week. For low performance managers will be accompanied with hr to give feedback and "career guidance".
Intel has only one way to go. Down. The numbers are unsustainable. Even with a 11% layoff they still have too many employees on the books.
They are buying time that's all. They need to work on being lean. Matter of time before more layoffs and consolidations occur. Especially as the H1-B pool falls away. Cheaper labor pool is going away.
Not trying to pour salt on the embarrassing wound to this guy below...\/\/\/. But AMD finished no change. Intel finished down 1% lol
Ever heard of the tortoise and the hare? Intel is the fat lazy hare.

Why did intel send me a 2016 W-2?
I left Intel voluntarily in Mid 2015 to pursue another job. They still sent me a 2016 W2 with about $1500 income on it. I called up the intel HR help and they told me its for dividends paid for my INTC stock holdings. This does not make sense since I... — read more
1 out 5 Intel employees will likely be laid off in the US within the next 6 months, what is your backup plan?
What's the rationale behind this? Any hard data? I know the data centers decline could be a blow.
Congress may finally stop Intel's H-1B visa abuse.
Good to hear that congress is finally tackling H-1B visa abuse by US companies including Intel. I have been an H-1B employee at Intel for many years, so I know what I am talking about. Last year, Intel laid off thousands of US workers. Most of them... — read more
