how can you run a foundry with no foundry experience?

Pat was unable to find a single executive in Taiwan who was willing to join IFS? IFS is just a completely clueless bunch of people who neither know how intel/td operates, nor do they know how a foundry operates.

Come on

If you are talented enough, you should've found a better place by now. If you are not, you should be salivating for the cushy package like the Pavlovian dog. Even if you got a C in your algorithm class, you should have expected that Workday (HR... — read more

All hand meeting on Nov 1st

All hand meeting on Nov 1st was mentioned but didn't see anything about it yet. Should I be worried?

If I complied...

and got the jab in order save their job, even though i didn't want it, am I immune from being laid off? Would they still lay me off after I/we were tricked into getting the shot?

PSG is safe

If you are in PSG, just exit this place, your are safe…relax, focus on your execution and enjoy your life…

Zoom me?

You guys remember that young CEO of Better.com Vishal Garg that laid off 900 of his employees using Zoom? What if Intel is planning the same otherwise processing exit interview for 20 to 30K employees will take months. This needs to be done quickly... — read more

How big a layoff is required?

Either take revenue per employee or profit per employee and compare to AMD, Nvidia, Qualcomm, and TSMC. Eye popping isn’t it, will they really ACT?

Why not pay cuts before layoffs?

I don’t think my group will be affected by layoffs, but I still don’t understand why bonuses, pay, and other expenses aren’t cut before people.

The FUBAR that I have always predicted

The list of failures is decades long and the larger undercurrents of why they failed tell it all. It all starts with the BoD and Andy Bryant. Never any real strategic thinkers or people in technology that allowed Paul, BK, Bob, and now Pat to dilly... — read more

Layoff shouldn’t be a surprise

I’ve been at Intel for 4 years and it wasn’t a question of if there would be layoffs in 2022, but really a question of when. Y’all are trolling to think it wasn’t coming. As an engineer, I’m definitely looking forward to reversing some of the poor... — read more

Mistakes keep repeating

After the big layoffs in 2016, the company employed too many people when the situation started to improve, without realizing that it was employing too many people. Then the cuts happen again. Just as Intel's approach to layoffs is wrong, the... — read more

Break up

I have a hunch that Mfg. and design will be separated. Announcement during quarterly Yes, No? They have to do something to stop the stock from going to ZERO

Whatever happens, I'm prepared

All we can do at this point is prepare for any possible outcome the best we can. I know that for many this is a scary period, but in the end, all of us will be okay. I was laid off before and when it happened I thought my world had ended. I ended up... — read more

Pat addresses layoff rumors

Main circuit article today morning. He talks about targeted actions!! That is not even diplomatic or dignified enough. How is Intel going to target employees for layoffs?

Chips Act

One could ask; with the billions of dollars from the Chips Act, why is Intel now laying people off?

Complete disregard

Just watched Cristoph address SMG regarding the layoffs. He seemed genuinely more upset about the press coverage than the fact he's firing thousands of people. I haven't worked here for long, but that really made an impression on me. I hope to stay... — read more

If lp and rk still have jobs after this

You’ll know they’re not serious about turning the company around and just want to get rid of high cost geo workers. He-l all of FM should be let go and moved to Gdańsk.

Need Thanos Style Random 50% layoff including CEO

In all layoffs, the id--ts who destroyed the company are in still charge of deciding the fate of the rest. A randomized approach produces a much better outcome than a wrong one.

Correct employee count

Why no one is reporting the correct employee count? Based on the latest Q2’2022 earnings report it should be 128.2K plus whatever was added or removed during Q3. Perhaps these layoff reports not accurate!! Just based on rumors?

TAs and Chief of Staffs - For outside public

If intel’s management has even been serious about savings cost and removing inefficiencies, they would have removed TAs (technical assistants) and chief of staff positions. Anyone at VP and above level at intel qualifies to hire a TA. There are many... — read more

My hope for now and for the future

I sincerely hope that this time they will not cut the best ones that every prosperous company would like to keep at any cost, to the benefit of those who only pretend to be doing something and do not add any value. Good luck everyone!

This is why transformations don't work at Intel

Transformations only work if all causes of problems are identified at all levels. Unfortunately, what happens is lots of blame at the bottom workers and some lower layers of management, while direction and management issues in the VP/C-suite are... — read more

Not looking forward to another waiting game

It wouldn't be the first time that news of cuts came out and then Intel let us wait for weeks to see what was going to happen. I find that unacceptable. If we have to go through another round of the waiting game our mental health will suffer for no... — read more
