Sickness or anxiety working at Exxon

Hello! I have seen a few times on this board people have mentioned that after quitting ExxonMobil their digestive/stomach issues or anxiety went away presumably due to less stress? May all be the same anonymous poster.. would anyone care to confirm... — read more

Consolidation of BU’s in US

With the “work studies” going on. Do you think there will be closings of BU district offices in the US and have things run out of EMHC?

Why not come together?

I am surprised that no one here has yet proposed an idea to help our company? We are big company why don’t we all chip in $10, $100 or whatever to fund the company in these tough times ? I mean call me crazy but boy is all in. Show em how we do... — read more

What do you or would you miss about ExxonMobil?

As I’m starting interviewing with other companies and also most likely leaving o&g, and soon enough I’ll be putting Exxon in the rear view mirror it phased me - will I miss anything here? What is it that you think you would miss or that you already... — read more

What Is ExxonMobil's Long Term Vision?

Are we still going to be doubling down on the growth of O&G when all our peers (BP, OPEC, etc) are all predicting peak oil demand in this decade? Based on our Solomon data, how are we going to meet the vision of most profitable operator when we... — read more

Genius on Goon..

Reflecting on the actions adopted by Darren Woods, he has taken the route less travelled. Doubling down on crude oil when competitors are cutting back, not cutting management pay and instead cutting employees, wilfully continue paying dividends... — read more

This makes me mad

You know what pisses me off? Other companies appreciate employees who bring experience and with that relevant knowledge to the table, but not Exxon. The longer you've been here, the chances are bigger that you'll be cut. It's all about the money... — read more

Hopeful.....................

What are the odds EM offers us old farts within 2-3 years of retirement a financial "nudge" to hit the road ? If you're only needing a year or 2 (or3) and over 55 already, what does the group think the odds are of EM giving you the years needed to... — read more

Lay-off EMRE and sell campus.

Research and engineering isn’t needed. Sharp on site personal who know how to run the business. Divest everything else and only keep the manufacturing sites.

Will the pension stick around?

Is the pension worth sticking around for or is it going to be gone/frozen in a few years? As an early career employee, it really is a fantastic benefit but I don't think sticking around is worth it if the pension will get frozen.

What is TMTS?

I know what HW3 is. But what does TMTS stand for and what is it about? Assume it has to do with moving jobs to low cost locations.

“Energy” lives here

Have you noticed that most of the world still has power and industries keep producing with someone’s energy? The only thing that’s really down is jet fuel consumption. And that’s enough to bring Exxon to it’s knees. So we aren’t in the business... — read more

Is bankruptcy the goal?

Seriously, our current strategy seem designed to make us go ot of business. What is the leadership thinking? I feel like a passenger who is watching a slow motion of an impending crash and there's nothing I can do because the driver refuses to change... — read more

GRS1 worth the extra headcount?

Sites with GRS1 implemented see any major benefit offsetting the 40% increase in headcount? Business Teams that used to operate lean and mean with one SLS now have 2 or more SLS, R/M/T leads Seems like the org is top heavy

WSJ Article and Layoff Cries - What is the Big Picture?

Reading people's reviews on a recent WSJ article, it seems that they expected a lot more scathing and deeper analysis of EM and wanted to hear more gibberish about PIP and Layoff. Get over yourself folks as before being PIPed, everyone tolerated the... — read more
