Additional layoffs and PIPs announced at the forum

DW wore his Effie Trinket dress and wig and announced that the third installment of the Hunger Games will be in 2022. You can be excused for not knowing about the Hunger Games in 2019, but not anymore. We need to hire additional people to have... — read more

IT fat

Why are there so many layers of management in IT? Seriously, we dont need 5 levels, it just adds bureacracy.

The game is fixed

One thing I hate the most about the current situation is how little our performance affects the ranking we receive. The whole ranking system is fixed. Our individual ratings should be based on meritocracy instead of whatever directive arrives from... — read more

Oopsie

I often wonder in Dallas has had a lightbulb moment and said, “Oh damn. What have we done.” They’ve started something they won’t be able to stop. Call it the #greatresignation or #exxodus either way it is just getting started. Attrition continues to... — read more

Final CL for an “average” career

There’s been a lot of talk here about CL 30 by age 30 if you want a high flying career. But I’m wondering what the “average” end-of-career CL looks like for someone who is good/not great but manages to make it 30 years in EMRE/GP type career paths. I... — read more

No, everybody is not replaceable

I get tired of hearing people commenting that everybody is replaceable and we should be happy to have a job. Yes, everybody is replaceable in the sense that you can get somebody younger and cheaper to fill that position, but their knowledge and... — read more

Retention Package

Hearing rumors from executive levels that some business units are talking about a retention package of some sort. Can anyone confirm any truth to this?

Woods Forum

Pretty sure the forum invitees will only include CL32 and above. Know of several people from P&GA, Controllers, and Law who received an in person invite even though they never registered. Gotta control that narrative. Over/under on a CL 33... — read more

More KLTC/BTC expat in US

Guess they are coming here to learn about our sites/practices and workprocesses before returning back to home country and do the work remotely. Are they competent in their work or require full support from us?

Jest a head's up. The Engine are more ruthless

We all know there's a congressional hearing on Oct 28 and DW will be there. Might be the quirky dot on his career here. All of y'all thinking the next CEO will be kinder, greener, gentler. You got another thing coming. These new blocks are carnivores... — read more

Reporting: Summary of the GP Forum

I am reposting something from earlier this week that I thought was pretty accurate (although sarcastic). I thought we should re-post the items that someone is clearly trying to bury w/ nonsense posts! Summary of GP Forum - By US 10yr employee ... — read more

I’d like to know the CL29 salary range. Not concerned with YEE or RGP, just straight up what’s the min and max salary for this CL in the U. S. Copied prior post for CL25 and curious what CL289 is.

Spam posts

Anyone else notice that when posts get real there is a slew of nonsense bs posts that have nothing to do with anything that follow? Almost seems like someone wants to bury to real stuff.

What CL do most retire at and associated salary

Trying to figure out what CL most people reach and ending pay to compare to other options. I heard 29 is a common ultimate potential but that doesn’t mean everyone gets to it I suppose.

Since the PIP can be survived now it seems layoffs are over. Many are choosing to resign or take PIL but this is different from a layoff. Is the worst behind us?

Good managers not welcome

Being a good and competent manager who knows what he's doing and treats his employees with respect doesn't seem to be a plus at XOM. My former manager, one of the best I've ever had, was forced out recently. The replacement we got has zero... — read more
