GSX

Interesting coincidence that 7000 people opt for a bullet in the year GSX gets canceled! Very interesting!

Eligible to participate:

On getting canned! ELT makes it sound so nice and clear. Why not start with ELT and making them eligible to participate and save thousands of jobs.

Double dip

Did I lose my years of service when I took the last ER package?

What went wrong?

Cisco used to make the best networking gear. What happened? Outsourcing, MBAs/sales guys running the place, commodification, rock star engineers more interested in newer areas of technology, innovators dilemma?

Where will LRs happen?

To the folks with inside scoop where do ya'll think LRs will hit the hardest? I'm hoping they aren't focused strictly on the AMER region as we tend to have the laws that easiest benefit the employer making it so easy to fire people. Hoping it's world... — read more

Targeted Layoffs

Anyone else notice on the call when CT said, "We're going to do the LR differently this time. Instead of hitting all BUs evenly we're going to focus on the weaker ones." WTF is wrong with this guy? How'd he become CEO? Isn't this how a CEO is... — read more

We were supposed to know more about exclusions per functional group today. I’ve heard nothing (Engineering). Anyone else hear any updates?

I just missed the 2009 ER but they changed the rules in 2011 and I got it. You had to be over 50 with your combined age and years of experience at 60 or over as I recall. I had four years at Cisco and qualified. The lump sum, prepaid benefits package... — read more

Following today’s global meet, anyone know which countries will have a voluntary redundancy program offered?

The Future...

with this leadership team doesn't look bright at all. Their only collective skills seems to be cost management, and even for that they only have a single approach lacking in creativity that's endemic under CR. He's instituted mediocrity as a... — read more

What am I missing?

Of course we need some layoffs but ELT reaction seems way way overboard.

After ER, LR will take place.

After ER, LR will take place. Q1 revenues are expected to tank between 9-11% and to mitigate that shortfall, expenses need to be trimmed by a similar amount. The covid19 pandemic is not going away in the next 18 months. Cisco missed the boat to the... — read more

Reason

How much of this is because of the virus vs what was their plan all along?

Pack Your U-haul & Leave

There is a real world out there. Get out of the Bay Area. Life is short. Say goodbye to the annual hunger games at Cisco and leave skid marks before CSCO leaves skid marks on you.

Just heard from senior director that higher grade individual contributors and middle manager in USA will be affected the most. Many dead weight VPs are leaving Cisco to join Amazon and Google cloud and support divisions. Some deadweights are making... — read more
