Cisco paid me 5 months NOT to work!

I was impacted by an LR at the end of February, pre-covid. I heard there were 3,000 impacted at that time. My original end date of pay and benefits was originally end of March. Then covid hit. Mid March, I was advised my end date of pay and... — read more

The best part of post LR work

Best part of working because you want to, not because you have to, post LR; is how your attitude can change towards employment. I enjoy working, and make sure I earn my pay and take pride in that. Have had a few conflicts (it is just the way... — read more

Examining you future options? Stress weighing on you? Relax. Your ELT is sleeping well, and couldn't care less about your angst. Take solace in the People Deal and the Conscious Culture. And ask yourself...if you didn't work at Cisco today... — read more

Plummeting Morale: Well Done ELT

I got told I was a sales achiever this week, woohoo! The same day I got told that, because of the type of sales comp plan I’m on, I will be affected by the reduced Company Performance Factor. That means I go into FY21 already in negative figures... — read more

Which groups take the biggest hit?

I’m hearing that the OPEX reductions are not uniform across the groups and the headcount reductions will also be “focused.” Which groups do you think will get targeted most heavily?

Management replaced Leadership?

Is this the issue? There are pockets of brilliance in Cisco but layers of management are making it harder to join the dots and innovate for customers. Leadership (G13+) offsites use to happen at a vineyard, then a Monterey hotel and by 2010 it was... — read more

COBRA

So, the Cisco ER pkg says it gives you enough money for 9 months of your current coverage via COBRA. I spoke with BlueCrossBlueShield about coming off of COBRA and starting a new family policy OUTSIDE of the enrollment period. They said for that to... — read more

Security Business - Ticking timebomb?

Those finding comfort in "Security grew 10%" are mistaken. We somehow survived so far, it won't last too long. Too many half baked products and way too many leaders leading those half baked products, more managers and "leaders" than the engineers... — read more

LR Payout Terms. Credible Insight?

Does anyone have credible insight into what the LR payout calculation will be? Could be important factor for determing to take ER or wait. As Tom Petty said... The Waiting is the Hardest Part

You are pre-approved for the 2020 ER!

For those qualified like myself, any thoughts to the downside of clicking that “accept” button? You don’t have to sign the separation document on Oct 5 and resume your duties. You can sign it on Oct 5, leave Cisco and change your mind within 7... — read more

Offered the Interim reduced workweek with a 20% pay cut. Are managers and above, including the CEO and his team also taking the 20% cut? Lead by example.

Negotiate

Anyone know if you can negotiate at all the let-go date? Taking a lump sum near the end of the year after you already have income will not bode well for taxes... (Canada)

Red Badge Layoff

Has anyone heard how(when) this will hit red badges. No one seems to be interested in sharing that info internally.. Just trying to make sense of all of this, this is my first experience with Cisco layoffs.

Does ER package include PTO?

I don’t see it in the letters or FAQ. Freaking out because I already accepted assuming PTO was part of it.

Red Badges next?

I hear all this about blue badges but when are the reds on the chopping block??

No BS, Chuck. Just lay us off already.

Kinda funny when I was watching the message board during the conf call how many tried to kiss his a–. Oh, Cisco cares about its people, blah blah blah. Fact is, this guy doesn't care about the employees. At least John Chambers was an old school guy:... — read more

Hindsight is 20/20

I bet chuck is kicking himself for not using the 10s of billions of repatriated cash to attract higher quality talent and develop more relevant products instead of stock buybacks.

Don’t get it twisted

ER is not about cost savings it’s about getting rid of dinosaurs that are holding the company back.

LR query

ER is not worldwide but what about LR and Pay cut is same region of worldwide

ER BACKLASH

the ER PR stunt have gloriously backfired on csco employees are rejecting it en masse , forcing leadership’s hand to do very large and public LR

Adjust the age and create a real ER package

A real ER package wouldn't be targeting age 50+. It would start at age 55+, maybe even 58+. Call this what it is, enhanced LR. Or hey ... let's call it Secure LRX. Amiright?
