Merger? Sale?

With headcount 25k out of our total it usually means preparing for a merger or closing doors/sell off. Of all the talk no one seems to mention this or ask about it.

Complete lack of empathy: Cisco Check-In

This week people are given LR. The folks in ELT are laughing with pink, pink, pink, and Filipino American week. Chuck does not even know Oct 5 was ER people left. Then says people were notified at risj and could be impacted. Come on are you joking... — read more

Regarding severance package and UI

If I takes 6 month severance package, can I apply for Uneployment insurance at EDD immediately after Nov 23th, OR, wait until May 2021? So cisco will cover first 6 month health insurance premium for COBRA, after that I have option to pay... — read more

Cisco and Cabletron (requested to repost)

Does anyone remember Cabletron? It is almost like karma that what we did to Cabletron should happen to us... Crazy Maybe we get lucky and GCP buys us because we have the enterprise business and they have the cloud. They can’t break into the... — read more

Should Cisco be split?

How about identifying areas that have potential for growth and will be able to thrive and separating them from the fast sinking rest of the company? Would that help?

LR for non-technical roles

Most LR posts on here seem to be from mostly technical and IT folks- which teams in the rest of the company were impacted (sales, marketing etc.)? Did your LR reflect what others are saying on here (6 months salary and COBRA?). Might give more... — read more

I don't get it

98% percent of people who work at Cisco think it's a great place to work. How? Who exactly are they surveying for these things? ELT, and only ELT? Even if you enjoy what you do immensely, the lack of job security itself should be enough to at least... — read more

Cisco Cloud

an internal Google strategy document from 2010 entitled “Where Industry is Headed in 5 Years” stated there would be some concentration in the market within five years, with “cloud service providers consisting of Google, Amazon, Microsoft and a hybrid... — read more

Brutal truth about the incompetency of the ELT

It's time for the board of directors to do their jobs and remove the top execs. The company can't survive via constant layoffs. It needs new blood at the very top that can develop the company. Face it, Cisco ELT is utterly incompetent and I... — read more

Can somebody clarify?

The layoffs started and ended yesterday, we all know that, but are we talking about this round or in general? Mainly, will there be more rounds this month or was that it? I'm asking because I've seen several people in different threads mention more... — read more

Cisco requires a activist shareholder

The only way this is going to change is if someone loves Cisco enough to change it from ways the employees could not due to the people (Chuck) in the ivory tower. Maybe if Cisco stock hit 30 or 25 and takes our market Cap to 100 billion would be... — read more

Step out Transition

I've had my webex with my manager and HR, i've been informed my position is at risk. I plan on declining the step-out transition leave, does this mean its a formality and i will lose my job? Or is there a risk they could change their mind and i would... — read more

All of SJ TAC, save for 2 teams, has been LR'd

Got the notice today. Literally every team in SJ TAC, besides 2 (newest techs, fill-in-the-blank), has been LR'd. All managers, including the 2 teams that stayed, have also been LR'd. SJ workforce moving to outsourced support.

LR option- StepOut Transition leave (STL)

How does this work if we already have offer within Cisco ? Do i still need to pick a date Oct30 or Nov 23 ? Or just done sign and transition as its done regularly? You will be offered a 30 days pay-in-lieu, and 2 months of Monthly Base... — read more

Yes, it is here

Package overall is decent, if not good: 6 months + 1 week per year >= 10. Compared to that id–tic retirement package, this is good. Cisco just can't be generous. The aforementioned years must be "completed". That is, if this year is your 12th year... — read more

new h1-b rules and layoffs

No personal hate for H1-Bs here. But I am curious if all H1-Bs were laid off considering the huge number of American citizens that lost their jobs. If any H1-B remains (unless they are genuinely the very best) we may have a problem given the new... — read more

EMEAR Impacts

Based in Collaboration BU. Got e-mail notification this evening so impacted by LR. What I heard is that it will be a big bang approach, so hopefully wont dribble-on for days\weeks. Don't think there will be the usual lag between US and EMEAR this... — read more

How could we keep the good Cisco traditions

Dear common employess and ELT, I like traditional Cisco people, I am sad to see many veterans to leave. Most of them are good people I believe. My question is that with their leaving, how could we keep the good traditions to keep company quality?... — read more

An outsider view

Complete outsider looking in and from previous layoffs at other employers, you are 99.9% safe in my opinion. I was the top performer on my team back in the 2009-2010 layoffs at a former employer. Managers had to schedule 1:1 meetings with all... — read more
