A8 How does a later separation date affect 2026 bonus and the amount in lieu of bonus
for severance?
For bonus-eligible employees, the severance paid in lieu of bonus will be based on the
number of full calendar months worked in the applicable calendar year. A later separation
date may increase the number of full calendar months used in that calculation. If you are
still actively employed when 2026 bonuses are paid in March 2027, you will receive your
2026 bonus through the normal compensation process.

I rejected the VSP… and therefore, I apparently don’t even have access to the faq.. can someone summarize the faq (or the things that changed anyway. For those of you who applied, congratulations and I hope you get everything you applied for etc… but, it potentially affects the people that stay almost as much as the people that leave IMHO

@am thank you! I appreciate your kindness and I’m the first to admit if I am wrong.😊 I just want people to be informed if everyone thinks that they are getting a September 4 date and not aware that they could be pushed.

@af Sept 4 was not mentioned in the faq as that date is there as declared before. The dates you are seeing there are only the new dates appeared as Extended date (if applicable). So, don;t worry- most of the applicant will get their date as Sept 4.
@af read the paragraph right before the one with the extended dates. It is titles “Why do some employees have separation dates that are later than September 2026? That indicates some are September and some are extended.
@ag because of the numver of VSP, there will be far less involuntery departure and those involuntery departure will be communicated by mid August.
@a8 reading is fundamental - the FAQ says some have separation dates in September 2026 and the next paragraph goes into all the other dates that are “extended separation dates”
Hopefully there was enough that applied that the layoffs wont be much. I make alot more then what the VSP would take me then getting taxed federally and by state is gonna cut that in half. Need to keep this job since im buying a house soon. Goodluck

I read the updated frequently asked questions that was updated today. I no longer saw September 4 anywhere in that document. If I’m wrong, please list the page number, so I can go back and read that. Because what I saw were five new separation dates with the earliest being December 2026..September 4 was completely gone again. Maybe I missed it but please correct me if I’m wrong. Because I sure love complaining! (sarcasm noted)
Maybe I’m just being very pessimistic but I’m also feeling not great about an email today- like it’ll be staggered through the week UGH. To clarify I have no proof of this or heard that from anyone my anxiety and squashed hope is saying this lol
@a1 They already know. My PL reached out to those people who had applied about a week ago to make sure they wanted to proceed with their applications.

As a non-VSP'er, here's my question: how does this (totally not unanticipated) last minute change affect the timeline of the inevitable involuntary layoffs?
@a8 I've read ALL 12 pages! It says, Extended Seperation Date (as applicable). From the BEGINNING they stated, SOME seperation dates will be extended. Like I said in my original post. Some of you all just want to find something to complain about.
@a7 oh yeah? Frequently ask questions was updated today. It literally included five new separation dates. Please get your FACTS together before you start hounding the original poster who is trying to warn everyone that that is super excited about a September 4 separation date that could NOT be happening now to THEM
I've come to the conclusion that most of you all just want to find something to complain about. Not ALL seperation dates have been pushed back.

The Jan 31 date would actually work out better for me, push that lump sum severance payment into another tax year so it does not push me into a higher tax bracket.
