Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Biggest career mistake

Coming to Centene was the worst decision I've ever made. I was thrilled when they offered me the position. Now I wish I'd never taken it.

Just wait until you are interviewing for your next role and the recruiter or interviewer is "familiar" with Centene.

For the last several years, when those pulse surveys would be released and it asked how likely it would be that I would recommend Centene to a friend, I always tanked the score.

Why? Because of company stability and management decisions. I watched this company lay off individuals that objectively had tremendous talent seemingly at random. It spends a ridiculous amount an attention to employee culture for an employee base that is for 90% sitting in their basements and spending only a half second on the intranet splash screen to see it and not at all tuning into those groups.

If you've only now showed up in the past year, you have my sympathies. Working for a Fortune 50 company seems like a great thing, and I think in almost any other case it would have been. That wasn't a mistake in judgement by any means on your part.
