Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Embarrassing Company

It’s sad to say, but we’re back to where we started when JD was here. The environment is toxic, the directors are promoted by their friends who are at the top. The vibe around campus is depressing and we have no new innovations. Marketing is just throwing celebrities in Ads - with slogans written by 12 year olds. What happened to ‘getting back to sport’? Step foot out of Oregon and you’ll see people don’t give an f about Nike.

All of that hype EH had went down the drain when WW was canceled. Regardless of how you feel about it, it was a pivotal shift in culture. Not because he got rid of it, but because he cried after, gaslighting us and telling us we need to love Nike as much as he does. Campus became overrun, parking became terrible, they cracked the whip on being in office, and as the stock price sunk they told us to work harder.

Ya’all figured it out too late. That kool-aid was so sweet when EH arrived in October 2024. Almost two years and the performance speaks for itself and explains the entire SLT as leaders. The BoD needs to immediately fire EH, MF, VA, and all the VP’s and most of the SD’s. The stock is barely $40. We’re f*cked.

I’m actively rooting against Nike so EH is forced out. Hopefully that will lead to the rest of the useless C-suite getting cleared out too.

Creative marketing doesn't have the right leadership. It is not a creative environment at all.

Sad but true. The entire marketing organization is a shell of what it was and the favoritism runs deep. I don’t see a recovery any time soon and it will just continue to spiral.
