Now the people left are doing twice the work. Every single day.

Since we are not investing in R&D that will just go into the toilet. For sales, we are hoping partners will pick up the slack.
What good is a used up company
And how could it be worth having?
@OP That happened to me in 2023, but then I got laid off in 2024. My colleague then got 4x the work after those layoffs and quit the next month.
Use Co-pilot and Aviators to do 10x the work. Executive see us all as minions.
Mail this comment back to 2024. Colleague laid off in 2023 - gave me his workload. Colleague retired early 2024 - gave me his workload. Laid Me off mid-2024 - gave my workload to colleague that quit a month later. Laid off rest of my former team over 2025. Not sure who's doing the work of those 20 people now.
Business as usual at OpenText.
@qm Generational gap moment.
It was sometimes when houses were $5 dollars and a firm handshake, but there was a time loyalty was rewarded and well. Even if it didn't match job hopping increases there were enough benefits or the right work to consider staying. That shouldn't be on you if you're happy with it.
Stories like that are becoming a myth to us gen z but I can at least translate until someone sets up a discord or smth. Them calling someone a dum--ss for a choice they seem happy with isn't exactly helping though. @qg (more for the point here) If gen z isn't deemed competent to be hired, and gen alpha is going to be worse, we're going to need the older gens more. Unless they out themselves as a bad manager, chill and let chill. Lest they be the deciding if you get paid off or laid off.
IE if we lay off the older folks for normal anti-age sentiment that's covered just enough to not be an easy ageism lawsuit, and can't make up for it through newer people, kinda sc--wed. If they dont give us in gen z a chance for not having a translator they're going to be the ones getting checks for it.
@gx agreed, do the minimum to keep your job and let others burn out as they work crazy hours thinking they will get a raise.
Do the minimum and tell management what they want to hear and you can keep your job until you find a new one or tell management you want to be laid off with a severance package.
And overachiever the complains to management is much more likely to be let go.
If you praise the ELT, you will be rewarded even if you do the minimum to keep your job.
Play the game and you can relax.
Don't do twice the work. That just validates their methods, and no they will not reward you for it. You probably won't even get a baseline raise, let alone any merit increase, 'cause OT's policy is to chew people up and sp-t them out. Protect yourself; your health is more important.
My happiest day at OT was the day I told a toxic manager who tried this with me "goodbye". Good job boss, now you have one less person to dump that cr-p on.
March 23 gonna be a bloodbath
Prepare yourselves and get everything in order, nobody is safe in North america
@fp. Which areas. Content ?
Cuts on the 23rd will be deep. All Geo's and areas that were said to be core.
I do see more of “job hugging” , folks here, someone who is hanging on to a job they dislike.
OpenText is a bad pay master to start with. They like cheap resources of Canada, India, Philippines. Poor people, those who started early in this company make not even half of their peers on other companies. Poor ones because the company who made most because of these, now kicking them out when they need job the most.
OpenText trimmed 2K employees when its stock hit low in 2025. In 2026, its even lower than that. Count your days friends, who used to work with me.
None-core are the lucky ones
In 2026 there are more bots online than humans. Legacy software is going to follow the same trend with development and support. At OpenText there is no innovation, rather we all just work at keeping the company afloat. So the % of bot will increase unless we eventually decide we want to be a software innovator again like we were in the 1990. But I’m not holding my breath.
its so frustrating, we are in a ship with no captain and extreme selfish leaders. We still need to ask questions humanly and they have every right to answer those with lies. I am so worried, after 23 years of working in this company at low wages, compared to market assuming we will grow out of this, it gets worser every year. I blame T. Jenkins, who invested our productive years for this personal benefit.
@a3 The shareholders are not doing very well and are not getting richer unless they are shorting.
OTEX is a very poorly performing stock with extremely poor "leadership".
OTEX is circling the drain.
You will be down more bodies on Mar 23
The plan is for everything to run on autopilot with no development and customers self-serving on support while sales continues to try to add customers and the ELT get richer.
Once the Ponzi scheme fails, the executive will depart with golden parachutes and everyone who stayed on will be out of work.
It’s all about executives and shareholder getting richer. Executives don’t really care about the company, customer satisfaction or employees’s well being.
If you stay, you are just enabling this culture.
