Let me run through the state of things. Talented staff are quitting. The ones who stay aren't keeping up with inflation. Some are getting let go anyway. Those of us left are doing triple duty. Clients feel the drop in quality and they're letting us know. Simple requests become week long projects. And to top it off, we've got contractors who don't know what they're doing and don't care to learn. A few are good. Most aren't. This is where we are.

Seen these layoffs consisting of people with knowledge and experience for over 15 years included in the RIF! No notice just called one day and laid off! Knowledge intelligent team orientation do not count for anything at FIS! Which is unfortunate because there are truly some very smart and nice people that work there! Many customers employees are unhappy with this company and I understand why! Good luck for whoever remains in this crazy company
@bd the executives get 100% to 250% of their annual salary as a bonus
@ea the only reasonable conclusion is that there won't be any bonuses or promotions given. If the previous criteria was the rating and there is no rating then...just another another year of anxiety to look forward to.
Same increment has been given for all our teammates. Also they took out the annual rating, not sure on what basis the future bonus/increment/promotions will be given to top performers.
@dq I’m referring to examples I am aware of. We have lost a lot of talent in the past because leadership was incredibly stingy with salaries and bonuses, insisted on micromanagement, and enforced nonsensical bureaucracy. To put it bluntly, there are a name or two I wouldn’t hesitate to RIF myself. In fact, I often wonder how some of them have survived here for so many years.
@dr it appears that layoffs are grouped not by performance but by date of employment or salary. Have witnessed no logic in those selected for layoffs. Losing institutional knowledge is going to create significant delays and inaccurate information being shared. That always turns out so well. Cleaning up the mess just creates further delays and client dissatisfaction. Retention is no longer a goal. That begs the question, what are the goals now? Teetering on the brink?
@d9 in my area we have lost strong performers with years of strong leadership…while bottom performers (ie those that require spoon feeding to do their jobs) still remain. It appears that rather than being performance based, they took the easy option and just removed those with a certain job title.
@d9 You are absolutely wrong about that. We have lost our most talented and experienced people through these RIF's. And when we complain about losing it, we are just told that AI should be able to replace them. Sorry but you can't replace experience with AI when there's no one around to program that AI!!
While most of those points are correct, I just don't see massive talent attrition here. We might be lucky because the market is so bad, but the number of layoffs is easily outperforming attrition. With a few exceptions, those laid off were generally the bottom performers.
@br yeah, but does that count Stephanie, Bob and the rest of the cohort? Probably not.
@bm In the past, that meant you joined the firing line.
@bd if you "Don't Meet Expectations" do you still get a bonus?
@OP Dont' worry.. the Executives got their 30 to 40% of their salary bonus. The same people making 300+. they need another 100k bonus as this company fails dont they?
@OP A troll's lament, hey, man, just let AI handle all of your problems! Why work hard when you can work lazy? It don't matter how many jobs they got for you. Take them big fat raises, get your money for nothin' and your chicks for free!!!
@OP Stephanie and Bob need to spend a week (at least) on the front line in contact with their clients. Let them see the delays in processing requests due to poorly trained, unmotivated contractors. Let them explain to clients why they are not getting a response, item processed, accurate answers, etc.. This should include whomever in Sales is negotiating these contracts. They should have to sit with the consequences for the clients that they wined and dined to get their business.
