Is there a specific day we need to let them know if we’re not relocating ? When’s the last day we can milk it if we’re in SR with zero intention of moving ? TIA!!

@ck, this is the way. It really su-ks to be away from family, but it is better to be employed in this job market. Many are getting small apartments near the Houston office and flying back to SR/SF every weekend or every other weekend until the next EOI or something else comes up. Others are moving and keeping/renting out their SR homes.
The job market is atrocious. I’d temporarily move for one year to stack cash and see if the general economy improves.
There was a guy who worked from home for a decade and lived in SoCal. He did trips to Houston as required. Big surfer. He finally retired to cash out his pension and invest it and they hired him as a consultant.
Pretty sure it’s September so you have a little time
Great question! Reach out to MF or SM with Aviation. They were able to offer continued commute privileges to 9 Bay Area pilots this year, 9 Bat Area G650 pilots who did not relocate in 2025. However, MF & SM did not offer continued commute privileges to the 3 Bay Area Cabin Attendants. So perhaps it comes down to your individual worth to th company. If you are PSG-26 unite with your (pilot) colleagues, stand your ground and do not relocate. Commute on the company dime! If you are a flight attendant, pay for your own commute. So a company that believes in safety, somehow can not pay for 3 people to provide inflight safety but can pay for 9 pilots to commute. Seems to make perfect sense, right?
Ask MF at the top of Aviation or SM at Sugar Land how that works. Good luck. Not employee all positions are equal.
OP
I would say it’s the date you are ready to be unemployed or quit on your own. Focus on what you can control.
