EXL is the global partner for offshore workers. Why does a company send large chunks of their work offshore?

@xw No my source did not have any more information
Do you know the number of contractors?
Today I heard we are being asked to reduce the number of contractors
@a9 sad people want nurses who are trained and able to relate to our culture, and no one wants AI to do the work over a nurse who has experience, who can see and talk to the patient and real people want to deal with real people. Invest in your people here in America! Stop this nonsense now while you can! If you want to use AI to help with the technology it will never replace the whole real person.
Downright sad that Humana is moving to offshore. Members don't want to deal with customer service and people they cannot understand. Hard enough working with people you cannot understand. I'm all for diversity but it is getting out of control! This will backfire eventually. Humana leaders should be ashamed of themselves for moving jobs for Americans offshore! I hope federal puts a stop to sending Medicaid money to companies that hire people out of the states. Our taxes shouldn't leave USA to employee people overseas for American healthcare unless the consumer sends it there themselves.
@a9 not only Philipines, Sagility people from here, South America 😵💫
The uncomfortable truth
Offshoring isn’t “evil,” but it is brutal in a country without strong worker protections, safety net like the United States.
The Elites telling Americans “Adapt” gets preached, support doesn’t.
Americans are told:
• “Learn new skills”
• “Go into tech”
• “Reskill yourself”
But:
• Training is expensive cost additional money on the top student debt.
• Time is limited, clock doesn’t stop , aging out at 40, 50
• Bills don’t pause - no safety net
• Not everyone can—or should—be a data scientist, programmer, data analyst…..
So “adapt” often just means “you’re on your own.”.
As the old saying goes….
“Get rich or die tryin’” wasn’t just a flex — it was a survival mantra.
It came from a place where the system already felt like it had written you off.
It’s all about cost savings. The pay is lower, we are not providing benefits, etc.
Not only EXL, there’s SWH (Shearwater Health) and Sagility. Hundreds of nurses and UMACs in the Philippines all until AI takes over.
Money?
