Never knew this existed. I think it’s a great way to let them know about their layoff practices.

Generally not much is done with these complaints. I’ve submitted specific complaints of clear violations of bank policies, ethical lapses, examples of visa fraud, instances of leaders disregarding employment law… I’ve heard crickets.
@OP, dont listen to the mo--ns on this thread. I know plenty of people who turned sh-t in and it got handled. I myself did as well. You have to keep in mind they are for BNY absolutely and do whatever it takes to ensure bny doesnt get sued
Don’t waste your time. That hotline is just for show. I filed, spoke to a woman that simply looked down at her keyboard while taking notes, said things would be investigated, came back to me about two weeks later with a scripted speech that she was reading from her computer monitor (yes, she wears glasses and I could see the reflection on her classes from her, monitor), told me the case was closed. End of statement. The call lasted maybe 45 seconds. This is the most unhelpful hotline I have ever experienced in my career. The bank doesn’t give a sh-t about its employees. The ER Rep taking your call is an overpriced, overpaid attorney for the bank.
To the original author of this post - you mean well. I know. But, what you need to understand that this hotline is not to be applied to a workforce battle as a strategy rather an ingredient.
Specifically, you need to just use it as part of a lawsuit (if it comes to that) for you or a colleague you want to support. 10 complaints (with time stamps) regarding a specific employee / incident - and then placing all that in a lawsuit - believe that it is leverage.
What do you mean BNY you weren’t aware X employee was berating employees? Your ethics department was sent 10 notes from different employees - all dated and time stamped for reference. Leverage.
Calling the hotline is like sharing your personal immigration case to ICE and then wondering why you got picked up.
We live in nasty times folks. Stop playing checkers.
Hahaha!!! You gotta be kidding... That's like calling the Police to report Police Brutality.
I second the statement about not wasting your time. Ethics is just there to now how to protect the firm for any wrongdoing by leadership or staff. If you cause enough "trouble" with your complaints, your direct leadership will know who you are and tag you for a PIP.
@a5 That hotline and ticketing system is useless. They are advocates of the company and will read from a script when providing the results of the "investigation". Don't waste your time.
BNY ethics hotline…. Sigh…
This hotline is like a diet book at Lizzo’s house.
Useless and only for show.
@a5 then you can sue for retaliation seeing they pride themselves off having a zero retaliation policy
@as it does eventually make its way to the people turned in. You just dont know unless someone involved mentions it. By all means use this though to document the issues cause you do get a complaint #
The hotlines anonymous. I knew somebody that worked in that group before they got fed up and finally only left.
That being said, I doubt the complaint will go anywhere, but it is anonymous
been around for years and is useless.
We all know what this company is capable of.
My opinion is that of you raise an issue with ethics, you will put a target on your back.
I’d personally only raise an issue with them if I was planning to take legal action in the future, at least you would have evidence that you reported concerns and nothing was done
