Severance counter offer

Curious if anyone in Canada has submitted a counter offer to the severance package. Did you get told to pound sand or did CPC negotiate?

Offer increased ! Remember, the first offer never the best offer. It took 3-4 months though, so don't challenge unless you don't need the severance for food and mortgage

You have to be at the level of being asked to sign a non compete to ask for anyone to up a package. The only way you can negotiate a better package is if you weren’t offered one at all to begin with (i.e a complete fire).

Just move on. The only winners going down this path are the lawyers who I promise do not work for free.

Be ready to be countered back with no severance.

Negotiating a better deal requires leverage. Unless you have something of value to trade for a better deal, they're not going to give you anything more than standard.
