Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Survived another week, somehow. Please read

Section Manager here. I hate this place, cried twice today and I never cry, ever. I know a lot of people make different posts on here and much of it is pure cr-p. Please take this post to heart and make your own decisions. They are realigning leadership at all levels and looking for any excuse to fire people. This includes SMs, TMs, CSs, Underwriters, CA, USAs. They just changed the accountability cycle to the performance cycle. I'm being asked my CM/VP and Executive leadership weekly, that I basically need to find people to fire. They are basically saying make it up or dig until you can find something. They are hiding behind people not providing "World Class" leadership or service. It borderlines on illegal behavior. I can't stomach it anymore and trying my best to protect who I can, when I can, but any attempts put a huge target on my back. Everyone please and I mean please please watch yourself. These people are self-deluded sociopaths running this company and it is only going to get worse. I'm going to find a way out of here. I cannot live in this kind of environment, work for these type of people or be a part of it any longer. Get out. I know how hard it is especially when you have a family and obligations but go out on your turns. This purely evil place is not worth it. God bless everyone, just want you to know the deck you are playing with. This truly is an evil place, it does not stand for the right things anymore and your soul is not worth it.

Honestly, i doubt your a SM writing like that, sorry man, was a nice try, and im sure some SM are saddened by the changes, but most at that level can find a job elsewhere easy, unless they have the writing skills of a child i guess, so maybe it is accurate.

Most the SM and up are on board with whats going on, and will get golden parachutes for opting out if they are reducing managment.

and they should reduce management, SMs are worthless, out of touch, people who tell you one week that tacoma will be the next SF hub and how invested the company is in the area, and the next week how they will be shutting down tacoma. SMs tell you one day we will never use BPO to replace workers, then the next month about how using BPO to replace workers is happening and to prepare for it.

They could get rid of every SM, and move to AI front line leaders and things would improve.

Using the words survived hardly describes working at this sh-t hole. I never seen such a bunch of mentally unstable DEI hires, lemmings and just moral less people in my entire life. Even worse some of these people even believe the cr-p they are peddling. It will catch up them, slowly but surely it always does. I will take the money for now, but even for horrible corporate America, this place is not normal. Disgusting place to be SF!

On 1/13/26 there was a massive realignment. TMs have made it clear by stating verbatim: they “expect attrition, with no intent to rehire at this time” aka a soft layoff. There is another massive merger for responsibility where specialists will be expected to handle pd and bi by June/july. The writing is on the wall. There will not be one or two per team let go. The entire position will be eliminated and/or metric’d out to an impossible standard where you’ll be on a pip until they can legally terminate you.

I wanted to thank you Dr. Oziengbe for all of your work and effort. I requested a reunion love spell (to bring back my boyfriend) and within 3 weeks Bryce was back and calling me regularly, and little by little we fixed what I had messed up. Honestly, I wasn’t sure that this was going to work as I had gone to other casters with no results, but I had to give it one more shot. you told me to be patient and i was, and I cannot thank you enough for your work! I have already recommended two friends to you for help with their love lives and will continue to recommend you to anyone I feel needs you. Just trying to get March to get my EIP and get out of this place! Even though claims su-ks, I can handle the work. It's all the other complete total BS and ghetto workforce that drives me crazy. EOM, Surveys, let's all about our emotions and feelings, begging for time off, crack head employees. Check the box 2040 leadership and constant lying executives. We focus on everything except what we are supposed to be doing is our jobs. It's just a total clown show. I'm embarrassed to work at State Farm.

The funny part is people are starting to see the lies. This is what they call leaderhip. I saw it start back in the 1990s when they promoted Kool aid drinkers and strictly minorities or others that were internally related or buddies of. That was the start of the race to the spiraling downfall the company is in. They want you to accept and smile while they sc--w you into oblvian mentally and physically while labeling themselves as leaders or world class BS! Corporate Merica no longer has class act leaders. They are just as bad as any governmental agency. Sad state of affairs filled with mental illness that grows its illness like a cancerous tumor.

State Farm is a lunatic asylum! I honestly can't believe this place stays in business. I try to just tolerate things to get a paycheck but we are at the point where it has become so d-mbed down. I can't decrease my intellect to that low of a level any more and what is sad is I'm not claiming to be Einstein either. Just like the rest of our society, we are now controlled and managed down to the lowest common denominator. The 2040 crowd is sinking us lower and just literally su-ks the life out of you. I tell everyone I encounter what a complete joke this place is and they love to hear story after story about the next re-ard move by SF. Comical.....

@18g That sounds pretty terrible. People who live where it hails and stuff always have a new roof though because of decades of "it needs a new roof" after a hailstorm or a high wind event blows off some old shingles on a shoddy worn out roof. I'm glad to not live in an area where these roof damaging hail events happen all the time, but I have friends and family who do. These roofers highly solicit after a weather event, and they're like the ambulance chasers of Fire claims. My house had a 20 or more year old roof on it when I bought it. High winds were starting to blow the shingles off of it, and when a particular bad windstorm blew a lot of them off I didn't call my HO insurance. Firstly because I knew it was worn out, and secondly...just no. A HO claim? F-that, that's only for the most desperate of times unless you want to be dropped or have your premium skytocket. I just got a new roof because it was time for a new roof.

I really wish State Farm would hire more BBBW. I really think it would be a game changer. If we could just get that percentage up from 70% to say 95-97% we would have Progressive shaking in their boots. They are world renowned for their customer service skills, attendance, work ethic, ability to grasp difficult concepts and most importantly so easy to manage and lead through times of change. Even better they are great drivers in their Nissan Altimas, hearing smoke detector beeps and versed in all levels of home construction including light bulb changing. I say we petition JF to make a huge change. Instead of Jake from State Farm we can have Jaquita from State Farm. Maybe even do a Batewomen commercial with JellyBean instead of Meghan Trainor. I really think this plan would be a game changer. Raise the bar SF! Raise the bar!

I was reassigned from Complex to be a Fire CS back in May and this place is a total trash heap. Proximity says every roof is repairable and just wear and tear then dumps it on us to figure it out. All we do is argue with contractors, public adjusters, attorneys and agents all day about replacing the roof, siding and everything else on the house. They keep telling us how lucky we are to be in Fire company but I wouldn't wish this job on my worst enemy. I hate this place and going to take the first job I can find and quit. The SMs over here are the biggest bunch of id--ts I have even seen in my entire life. They check all the right boxes but have no clue what is going on. Dumpster fire!

JF and his minions continue to destroy SF. How is that 2040 workforce? How has that worked out for you? Like a good neighbor "hood"!

When SF says voluntary layoffs, don't believe a word they say. It is far from the truth. What they will do is go by the numbers of people under chains of command. For example, a claim manager has X number of employees. Of the X number the claim manager will be required to get rid of a certain percentage up and down the chain under him/her. Then what they will do is start at the top and work their way down the chain of command and target the people who they believe do not fit in with their narrative and drink their corporate kool aid. They will make life so miserable for them, they will have no other choice. This affirms their nepotism and provides them with a false sense of security by making them believe they have control. I have seen this backfire many times before and the company has lost many lawsuits over "trying to ride someone out the door" so to speak.
They are going to do what they want to do. Let them do it but just be sure to document everything you can and use what they have taught you to cover yourself and the others going through the same nonsense. Share with no one and do not leave it in office for the SS to find it.

I'm going to leave this horrible place right after the holidays. The race to the bottom is taking place at an accelerated pace. I want no part of this at any cost. I've been doing this for about 13 years and the last 6 months have felt like a prison sentence. This accountability cycle and re-arded world class BS is a complete joke. I remember when they failed us for a perfect call survey for not branding calls. People got fired for it. We all had to take mandatory Remarkable training. They preach service service then throw it out the window at the drop of a dime. Plus the new TMs and SMs are complete Kool Aid drinking id-ots. They are all lemmings just checking a box. The tenured TMs and SMs are miserable and you can see the agony in their face every time they have to hold the BS company line. Leave, taking this torture is not worth the price. This place is just stupid!

Yes they did. Greed, corruption, pride, envy and narcism has plagued mankind for all of existence. I'm not religious but do believe in something after this life and think there is a thing called evil. These people and everyone like them, before them is evil too. It gives me faith to know that someday they will be held accountable. Enriching yourself at the expense of others is about the lowest form of human and hopefully it will secure these people, like the ones that run State Farm ,a place in h-ll. They don't see it that way, but ultimately I will not be the one that decides. This place is a total and complete dumpster fire that represents the worst of our society. Sad story State Farm.

@rm They think everyone has a price and can be bought. That's where they make a huge mistake and give us who don't have a price tag a giant advantage. I know that when they thought they bought me, they didn't know I would make it without them. Little did they know I took a lot of their business away from them. It's easier to take business than to think you can buy someone off and say it is a business decision. That is the huge HUGE mistake they don't put into their calculus.

We were world class when.......we are now third world class!

Zones- we had nice buildings, in great affordable towns, cafeterias, parking lots/not garages, had time to take a lunch,
Employees- College degree and 3.0 to get an interview, multiple rounds of interviews, all in person, top notch training. Tenured workforce not the "reimagined" workforce of today, not 2040!
Executive Leadership that focused on the employee so the employee could focus on the customer.
Pay - Good pay, a pension, Paid vacation, Paid Doctor, Paid Sick Leave up to a year, large merit raises.

This place is a total sh-t hole now! Run away!

@nt DING DING DING!!! I will agree.

Most Section Managers make $150,000 and about 18,000 +++ in MIP!!!

Imagine a SM who makes this much crying foul on this app thingy.

NEW FLASH: Most folks in leadership will never make comments on here because they love their pay and perks. And most are not as miserable as the person.

You ever saw a SM who looked stressed or was pi---d off at the direction of the company??????

That’s how you know the author of this post is not who they say they are

I love all the tough talk. How we have turned over a new leaf with this accountability cycle and how we have to be world class. We have to win in the margins. LOL! We will show you how tough we are and show those ungrateful employees. They keep acting like this is going to be this long line of highly qualified employees just knocking down the door to come work in claims. Take a look around. Phoniex, Dallas or Atlanta, it is like a bad Disney movie remake that is loosing $150 million at the box office. You can put lipstick on a pig and call it what you want to but it is still a pig. SF Execs and corporate America is delusional thinking it can be successful with this "reimagined" workforce. I will be so happy to see JF and his team of goons have to officially announce we are the #2 auto insurer. The hubs are monuments to MT and JF egos and failure. The coaches just can't accept the fact it's the plays they are calling, the players they drafted and the stadium they built that is the problem. If the market and economy takes a dump, which it will, the carnage will be massive at SF. Unless parade of Express employees, pi---d reassignments, burnt out retail workers or any combination of other industry discards. This place is a nightmare you can't wakeup from.

@dg absolutely correct! I lasted over 30 years before retiring. The only thing that kept me away from the evil, alcohol abuse, substance abuse, divorce, and the toxicity was being able to find a hobby that none of them were interested in that kept me outside of their loop. I enjoyed meeting personally with the customer, however, inside of SF I literally was disgusted with the games they would play. The work ethic at SF was never rewarded and I saw that from the beginning. They played their favorites and I saw people get promoted who either ran around on their spouse or married inside the company. The "schmoozing" is so blatantly obvious. All you have said is correct. I never trusted any of them and since I have retired, the game is over. Now, I can look them on the eye and tell them exactly what I think. I worked hard to deserve that little bit of respect. I look at them in the eye now and they can't look back in my eyes because of their deceit. Know and believe in yourself because they never have and never will believe in you unlike what they sell. Yes, they sell you into believing in them but they will never believe in you. Once you know this, you have them beat. I respect you for delivering medical supplies. When I was at SF, I missed loading and unloading tractor trailers. I was around real men who worked for a living instead of the wannabe men who couldn't lift anything heavier than a pencil. I was around real men who had real hobbies like building cars, engines, concrete, and heavy equipment. I did the teamster work the first 10 years I was at SF so I would be vested in the teamster pension. Never told them that but did tell them to shove it in my 50's and still today when I see them coming in and out of stores. Be happy you did what you did. Your peace is more important than an unhealthy mental and physical lifestyle they all suffer from their lifestyles. Good show and keep it between the lines. Those patients need those supplies.

I was an Injury CS and had been with the company 11 years. I kept getting my inventory down and every time they fired someone or they quit, I got their inventory. Constantly punished for working hard. I resolved complaints for my TM, had to present things in huddles and helped new to role CSs. I was making $85,000 a year with benefits. I quit 2 months ago and now deliver medical supplies and make about $$50,000 a year. I took a big cut in pay but it was the best decision I've ever made. I cut out every single thing I didn't need, no car payment, basic cell phone, use families streaming services, eat sandwiches, and found the cheapest place to live as possible. I do not miss any of it and have my peace in life back. It's not glamorous and I don't save a lot of money. But I will not die of a heart attack at 45, won't be a slave to the SF cult, and at least helping folks. No job or company is perfect but that place is a complete evil he-l hole. It destroys peoples soul and leadership is really really dishonest and these are crooked people. Get out and make sure you cancel your policies and tell everyone you encounter what an evil place this is.
