I’ve only been hearing rumors, and they vary wildly. I’d really like to have at least some sense of what’s coming, because I’m genuinely worried about my job, like I imagine most of us are. The job market is terrible, and the bills don’t stop.

About a 100 were let go in early Oct in US.
Worrying won't help. Instead use the time by updating your resume and start applying for jobs. Get good at answering questions on interviews, becoming knowledgeable on different topics, and training yourself with the latest information. Be prepared, just in case you are affected by layoffs. Reach out to your connections even if you haven't in years. You never know. They might just be looking for someone with your job experience. It can't hurt to reach out.
from the discussions we had in our team, i think non customer facing roles will be impacted e.g. project managers, r&d architects, etc who can be moved outside US to save costs.
If you want to know how many will be impacted, than look to your right and to your left. Do you see anyone? If not, that should tell you something.
Save your money.
