Claims Job Offers

How many U/W employees got job offers in claims today? I heard they started rolling out and you have 3 days to accept? I was told a rough figure of around 100 today....

Since leadership assumes it's all about me and it's a business decision, it will always be wiser to distance yourself from them. They believe they are helping the business but in reality, they are detrimental to the employees and the customer.

Perfect advice! I did the exact same thing and on top of that I got paternity leave out of them and extended it another 12 weeks. My TM was soo pi---d! They even asked me for a copy of the birth certificate! Hilarious! Claims is an absolute nightmare and do not think for one second it is ever going to get better.

For new to role in claims they put you on path to proficiency! P2P! So about 2 months worth of training then 6 months or so on path to proficiency. It can buy you 8 months at least. If you are not performing after that, they will do an action plan, 30 days later a drop file then 30 days later a shield then 20-30 days later a term. Give or take a few weeks here and there. You can make it at least 1 year if you just do not mess it up too bad. It's what I did! At the shield memo mark I went out and took my 12 weeks of FMLA protection and came back and they gave me three weeks to re-acclimate. Then I went out on 6 months worth of STD and when that exhausted I quit! I got almost 2 years out of them and was working another job most of the time. It takes some effort but well worth it! Fu-k SF! Use all the benefits you can to benefit you and do not feel bad! They have no problem bending you over at the drop of a dime! No such thing as stealing from a thief!

Always take the job off, go thru training, take some crazy leave. Come back and get re-trained. Repeat. All on their dime.

TAKE THE JOB OFFER AND GO THRU THE TRAINING AND THEN QUIT. GET THOSE WEEKS OF TRAINING PAID. KNOWING YOU ARE WASTING THEIR TIME.

If you do not take the job offer they consider it a request for termination!

I took the RFT and h-ll no I'm not going to claims! Today is my last day at SF. Sad but so happy to be done with this place. I have worked in claims before and got out right before COVID. I said I would never go back to that soul grinding sh-t hole! It has only gotten 10 times worse since I left and feel sorry for my friends that are still there. Don't care if I make less money. I would rather eat PBJ sandwiches everyday and have my sanity and dignity in place. SF is just toxic!

claims is a brutal place, mostly due to perma-under staffing by choice, a super high turnover, and a terrible training.

Problem with claims is that some departments use to be actually great to work in, but as people started leaving bad areas for the good they started reassigning people, which i think theyve run out of people to do that with and are tapping into underwriting.

ill be honest, express is a MUCH easier job than service UW, the people you deal with might get mad and yell, but youll never get an email with your boss, bosses boss, and CEO attached with a huge paragraph about a bad phone call ect.

Claims is bad due to how its run, imo, and the work there is much more satisfying. Underwriting, both service and normal UW is nothing more than an over glorified customer service role for diva agents and staff who think they are diva agents.

Once you get to express or wherever start looking to get promoted, youll be shocked how dead end UW was with promotions and how easy they can come in claims.

I'd rather ride a bicycle or do yard work than work for SF!

I came over to Express for U/W three months ago because I saw the writing on the wall with automation. Worst mistake I ever made and pi---d because the new severance plans were not out yet. I just gave my two weeks notice and just want out of this he-l hole. This has been the worst experience of my life. U/W people do not take a job in any area of claims. I just talked to my friend who got an email yesterday and they have 3 days to accept the job offer or RFT. They are taking the RFT! Claims will destroy your very soul, DO NOT DO IT! I cannot stress to you how horrible the Express environment is and claims. Run away as fast as you can!

Omg people, if you go into claims they track whether you work or not? Whhhhhhaaaaaattttttt the actual effffff? You can’t be serious. What an actual amazing he-l hole. You have to work and are held accountable if you don’t. Insane leave immediately and go work for a bank or another place that just lets you sit there all day doing nothing….there has to be so so so many of those jobs

U/W pray for severance! Do not come over to claims unless you only need to make a few years until retirement. You will not survive, you will either quit or get fired. If that happens SF wins and you get the shaft in the end. Claims is a total soul ki-ling disaster and the upper leadership is just sc-m of the earth. Take their money and if you want to work in claims go somewhere else. I would suggest getting out of this industry completely as insurance companies have become horrible toxic dumps where people careers goes to die!

For those that do go into claim handling whether prox or deployable, good luck. You will be in for a rude awakening with a life that will grind you into the ground. OT is not guaranteed. You have to show your worth through production, efficiency and meeting SLOs. The best part is there will lots of training beforehand and if you do survive, it's actually a pretty good gig to finish out your career. Personally, I'd go the deployable route if you can. It's an all expenses paid adventure, especially if you dont have young kids. Warning though -if you want to slack and game the system, be aware it is gonna be easier to terminate you....no more drop files and lengthy HR processes.

If you have a pension stay and do the bare minimum. Then get paid dot the rest of your life at the expense of the policyholders.

I'm so happy statefarm keeps losing, progressive No1. While statefarm is busy rewarding politics and backstabbing in ET, progressive is busy rewarding its capable engineers driving even more fuel to the fire which reflects on the stock price.
The more management backstabs me, the more I milk the pension and focus on my side business. Things are going well for me while statefarm is like a crippled elephant being hunted down. I'm so happy! 😁
