Not sure how deep these are, but just heard a Mgr & couple of regional guys got axed yesterday & today. Yet again slt saying "not for the foreseeable future" is more bs.

@ay I CONCUR. BEEN THROUGH SOME TAKE OVERS IN MY LIFE, NEVER HAVE I SEEN THE COMPANY BEING BOUGHT START TO RUN THINGS. WAS OFF IN MY MIND WHEN THEY FORCED OUT A NUMBER OF T-MO SENIOR VPS THAT ACTUALLY BUILT THECOMPANY.
@ej as a former Sprint employee who was outsourced to Ericsson it was a yearly culling of 10% of the workforce. He's just carrying on what he's accustomed to.
I was told when Ulf took over engineering that his philosophy was you should prune 10% of the labor force every year.
@ay Concur 100%
At this point I think it's the new normal for TMO to layoff a percentage of their work force every year. Someone has probably convinced senior management that "forced churn" is going to root out all the low performers and malcontents and keep their workforce fresh (and cost controlled). But like all systems, it can be gamed. Some of the people I've seen let go were in my opinion quite good, but drew the short straw for whatever reason. It certainly doesn't make for a pleasant work environment.
It’s just Sprint at this point. We have a layoff season every year. Everything is an excuse to cut staff. It’s the only idea they ever have. Sell more? No. Cut spending. Cut employees. Cut morale. The same people who ran sprint into the ground are now at the helm of T-Mobile. It’s gut wrenching.

When Mikey's lips move, he's lying, so...
T-Mobile has been doing really small quiet layoffs for a very long time. They used to get away with larger numbers since the WARN act only triggered at over 500 but this July the mini WARN act took effect in WA requiring them to report when over 50 were laid off. https://www.hklaw.com/en/insights/publications/2025/07/washingtons-mini-warn-act-goes-into-effect-on-july-27-2025
But T-Mo has been laying off little bunches of people very quietly for the whole time I've been there over the last few years and not being public at all about it. All the while they tell most of their employees that no layoffs are happening right now. I just happened to be in a role where I knew about some of the smaller ones.
