Hock cry fowl

Broadcom just issued statement that Qualcomm transferred assets from itself to NXPI shareholders in a breach of fiduciary duty. Hock-san, is not that you were doing? Raiding QCOM coffer for greedy AVGO shareholder? Poof go billion dollars.

Frankly, I welcome Broadcom

Many people have been saying this, albeit less verbosely: Broadcom would strengthen productive parts and get rid of unproductive parts of the company. I would actually be happy about that, because I work in a productive part of the company, and I am... — read more

Qualcommageddon?

Usually all three of the following events trigger massive layoffs. 1 - Company aquiring another company (QC, NXP) 2 - Company being aquired by another (BRCM aquiring QC) 3 - Company announcing massive cost saving Imagine what would happen when all... — read more

The way out of those dark days

Q has some treasures that are not being valued properly. SM and PJ are awesome executives that made the company what it is and can salvage the ship. AVGO board is nothing but incompetent losers. I would encourage the board to cut off all engineer pay... — read more

You get laid off, when you get laid off

Either way, if Broadcom acquires Qualcomm and Broadcom performs synergistic merges or if Broadcom does not acquire Qualcomm and Qualcomm has to do some major cost reductions. So just focus on your work and don't get distracted on how or when you get... — read more

New logo: what were they thinking?

The new Q looks like the Quartz logo in use for years (qz.com). The original Q logo had some thought put into it. And the company is going to layoff engineers to pay for a new department of clowns?

Hope there is no collusion

It's getting interesting now with the ISS recommendation of 4 BRCM appointees. It could now come down to the two JANA appointees to break the tie. Those two arrived on the QCOM board under somewhat questionable circumstances. I still think AAPL was... — read more

Severance package in danger

ISS recommended to Qualcomm shareholders that they vote for four out of the six board director nominees. If that happens, it would not qualify as a CIC event. As a result, all layoffs in up coming $1billion cost cut will lose severance package... — read more

Be understanding

I have noticed some pretty insensitive commentd about the potential for layoffs telling people to get over it. That's not a bad attitude to have if you have been out of school 2 years. There are many people that have been at the Q 10, 15, or 20+... — read more

Is QRC relevant anymore after the so-called split?

What will happen to the legacy of dubious promotions that Charlie and his gang had going? Did you know, there are more directors and principal engineers than engineers and seniors in CRD. All thanks to nepotism. CRD's staff engineers with 5 years... — read more

QCOM stock $67 on March 21, 2012, no joke

And they want you to think $82 is not full value. Current management has been unable to get stock above that number EVER! Now they freeze hiring and plan HUGE layoff. Incompetent financial planning. Starts at the top. Sorry CFO, time for you to go.

Interviewed at a top 3 tech company recently

and none of the interviewers knew what Snapdragon was. Pretty much no one knows what Snapdragon in the companies I've interviewed at. And many of them have phones that have a Snapdragon. Is there a reason why there is no marketing?

If you want to be laid off, then vote for Broadcom

Broadcom will take on $100B in debt (mostly from China) to buy QCOM. They will have to lay off most of the company to make the interest payments. QCOM will layoff most of engineering and just manufacture the older chips to pay off debt. Or the... — read more
