Chaps, the ultimate winner in this nonsensical set up is the risk group. Especially technology risk. They have been playing on both sides of the argument. If you say, the AI agents are always going to be supplemented by humans, these guys could say that manual oversight is not succulent, blah blah. If you said it is all automated now, then they would say why no human oversight. So I predict the technology risk function will remain the engine in the Nonsense express.
@r4 we did not spend billions of dollars on AI, I don’t know where those numbers are coming from. This is technology removing redundant or inefficient processes, nothing new. I am in ai hub and we do not have $3B to spend here. Highest contracts I see are a few million
@pz your response makes no sense. If you have AI “employees” now working in lieu of humans that are being laid off monthly then they ARE replacing your job. By the way companies don’t spend BILLIONS of dollars unless they plan on getting that money back somehow. They only way this company knows how to make money (because we know they’re losing clients left and right) is to cut their biggest cost, which is labor.
You poor sweet summer children. If you can’t see how AI or process refactoring will impact your role, then start looking for another job. It’s causing everyone (except you obviously) to call out pain points in processes and then USE AI to enhance or consolidate processes. It’s not like a robot is stealing your job, people who know how to use code assistants and get work done are.

AI is here to stay and is benefitting us. It is on its way to replace so many of us. That is the truth we are unwilling to accept and plan our future based on that. Denial can get you no-where but to the unemployment line.
The easy way to make the above salary - Tool up - and use the same jargon and buzz words especially if you are in Engineering.

Those AI meetings are a frickin joke. I like these do-nothing managers making huge money telling us this is a “cool place to work”: yeah, if I made your salary, I would say the same thing. Off the record, my direct manager told us AI su-ks and is no benefit to us. On the record, he spouts the company propaganda.
