Focus Rooms

2 Hours! That’s all you should be in there for. Doesn’t anyone follow instructions anymore. It’s the same people everyday using the same focus rooms.

If you are on calls all day, that is fine. It’s the Jack A$$3$ that just sit in there because they think they are important or don’t give a rats butt. Iselin floors 6 and 7 are a prime example

I used to use a focus room most of the day because I was on calls all day and most of the people around me were rarely if ever on calls, so they would all just get annoyed with me talking constantly and/or eavesdrop. Was I hogging a focus room, yes. But I also probably let 15 people focus better at their own desks by doing so. Definitely not saying that is the norm, but it does happen.

In charlotte I have seen focus rooms changed to offices due to not enough space for all the employees...

Ha! I do this. All day (>8). Can't stand sitting out in the open and sharing desk. No thanks.

Focus rooms are not "all day" offices. This will go the same direction that coffee badging went. The few people hogging focus rooms all day and ignoring common courtesy are going to make it worse for everyone else by their selfish behavior. Wait for the next round of clamp down on private room use.

All of the focus rooms in Irving are taken by the Indians, they leave their backpack and curry lunch on the desk to save the space. It's always the same Indians in the same spots, the only time I was able to get a focus room was during the holidays. Talk about being discriminated against

Intentional result of corporate stupidity. I never have and never will sit in a cube or picnic table seating arrangement.

@OP

Too bad for you. I'm taking one all day, every day I can.

This was never an issue with WFH but we can't have that now. How about you take it up with the mental mid-ets upholding that horsesh-t policy?

@a7

No tissue, just people to be courteous and realize that we should not be selfish aholes. Use them for their intended purpose and vacate. Pretty simple

@a8 I saw somebody literally sleeping with their head down on the desk in one of those focus rooms. I was looking to use one and they were all taken.

lol-- You're kidding, right? People camp out in focus rooms and offices all day. Who is going to move after you've gotten setup and potentially can't find a cube to sit in. Want a focus room? Show up early.

@OP is too focused on this issue.

@a8 being in a focus room doesn't mean they can hide from activity tracking software.

Its easier to do nothing without getting noticed. Anybody you see using focus rooms regularly all day is a worthless POS and is just trying to hide it from everyone else.
