@k6 This is correct. The expectation is the MF will move to a 3 or 4 day RTO, with him using the poor results as his rationale for more in-person connection. Don’t expect a formal plan beyond that.

With holiday over, the smoke is around more moves on the discretionary side of the business. If you’re working discretionary anything, prep your resume and start looking now.

@dz I can't wait to see these WFH clowns get laid off and actually have to work 8 hours not at home. Ha ha ha. A real eye opener.

Mid-year cuts will involve supply chain, with primary focus on fulfillment. With stores ramping up to fill online sales, coupled with the announced investment to set more stores up as fulfillment hubs, supply chain fulfillment will become a thing of the past. The only exception will be a few strategically placed centers that will focus on the big and bulky orders, that can’t easily be serviced out of a store. But all the med-small items will fill solely from stores. This also means expanded store inventories to ensure readily available items to fill those orders.

I don't think the racism is necessary. Do better people.

I heard on this website around the time the layoff rumors were hot, that there would be a 2nd round in Jan-Feb.

Haven't heard any rumors on RTO, I just suspect the dreaded announcement will come after the new CEO takes his place.

Yes, return to work is new normal, unfortunately, a percentage was grossly taking advantage of WFH. They had bots on the computers and found 80% were taking great advantage and lacking in productivity with some showing no or little work for a day or two at a time.
