IHO and Shared Services

Hi gang

I've become almost beholden on my IHO and Shared Services employees, at a division level. They're my go to's.

Which areas of IHO and SS were cut hard? Communication being struck from our name, I suspect we all get nothing, so anyone that can chime in?

@s6 IHO - Intermediate Home Office, they’re all the people who worked at segment level doing various overhead and indirect tasks. Also all functional VPs, directors etc. Compliance training, how to use systems, cross site coordination, reporting, user groups. They’re similar to Shared Services (which is similar at the CHQ level but more accounting/financial). Each segment used their IHO differently. SAS had a very large one for most functions to centralize things. IMS had a small one as most functions were left at the sector level. Less sure about CS, Aerojet I believe it was basically pre-acquisition Aerojet Corporate became the IHO.

This entire level is supposed to be transferred to CHQ

So... We want to get our on-time deliveries up so that we don't get in trouble with the Feds and loose stock buybacks and keep executive bonus high. Right? That's what the executive branch of the federal government asked all of the defense contactors. Right?

So... Why, would you reduce the general support and put MORE burden on project personnel that WILL effect on-time delivery.

This on the nose seems REALLY STUPID.

I hope everyone effected by the RIF ends up in a better paying position. Try to keep positive, don't let the ba----ds get you down.

Given how chaotic IHO & shared services seem to be in the US, I’m amazed you get anything done!!

A lot of the IHO people were absorbed into a sector (Space seems to have taken the most, Airborne took some, MN/IC took none). Some were let go, some were shuffled around and are now working in different spots.

It was a small line in yesterday’s email, but all segment functional personnel (up to the VP level) are seemingly being transferred to CHQ. Assuming this happens in both segments, it will trigger another large scale management reshuffle and consolidation. Given how many people it is and how slow the process was for the segments so far, I’d expect it to take at least till Q4, though wouldn’t be surprised if they attempt to speed it up.
