I’ve talked to multiple people and all of them are hearing that Trew is buying IGS.

Bunch of losers :) Hows IGS leadership team nowadays? What a joke
Hard to be worse than HWL
Trew put all you IGS people in the position you are now, wouldn’t be too excited.
@m7 yes we saw that result of "US metrification done many times" in Poland assembly factory.. absolute disaster rushed into production. EU team firefighting worst garbage for over two years and then Amazon had enough.
Its not about getting calculator and converting measurements on drawing. Its about whole material parameters (fasteners, shafts, bearings, sheet metal grades and thicknesses) + as other guy mentioned completely different safety requirements and restrictions which nobody in US has even heard about. Once you have to add fingerguards, whole design needs very significant rework.
@qv It's not just a conversion, you have to take into account other standard dimensions for metric/imperial materials that don't exactly fit together.
And especially stricter rules from a machine safety perspective for EU/CE compliance.
@m7
I would think that an Americas engineer would be fine with metric versus imperial. We have done it many times, whereas an EU engineer probably hasn't but still, it's just a conversion.
Predicted this months ago with some other options. Trew looks like most probable option. The big question is what will happen with Transnorm and some EU guys, since Trew is Americas and imperials.. while Transnorm and EU guys know metric stuff.
It wouldn’t be Trew, it would be the venture capital backing Trew that would likely integrate the two businesses together.
One can hope - I have a lot of friends and a few mentors at Trew and would love to work with them again.
