Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

How much is offshored here already?

Seems like with sending jobs out of our country and their all in approach to AI, I wonder just how many jobs will be left.

@qj You mean...how things were prior to the offshoring? But it was fine when it benefitted you.

@nt If you had a group of white employees only hiring other whites, misusing a government systems to enact lower wages and using those lower wages to push out brown people, you would be outraged. Brown doing it to whites? Well that’s capitalism 🤦🏽‍♂️

@kn I don't associate racism with offshoring, have you not read the barely veiled racism in these comments???

@hg Interesting you associate offshoring with “racism”. I don’t care if they offshore to Iceland or India, it’s still hurts the US. Has nothing to do with race or anything else.

@hg This is the kind of response evil “American” corporations love, as it frames the solution as to grand to actually do anything about it. Corporations push boundaries to see what they can get away with. I would wager your response is exactly why we are in this mess today.

I hold no shade against any offshore employees. Regardless of country of origin, they are working for a paycheck like you and me. The enemy is American corporations using the cheapest labor with poor training and high turn over rates which compounds the existing problems of the language barrier for those doing the work and speak English as a second language. Corporations send your jobs overseas, layoff and implement AI, and give us measley raises that can't even compete with inflation much less the cost of living. This is capitalism stealing your wages and sending it to the share holders and the bonuses and stock options of the csuite. Direct your hate and contempt appropriately, don't be a racist pr--k.

Not to mention all the insider trading that happens within this demographic. They are all in on the same scam, so they stick together.

Offshoring is treason, plain and simple. It is a direct as--ult on the economic and social well-being of the United States of America.

I’ve been on many interviews where the candidates were not sufficient - all Indian, assuming H1-B. When I questioned the vendors we are using to staff, I was no longer in the interviews. This is how it starts. Lower management performs nepotism. New hires give nothing but praise and cook the books. Then before you know it, one middle manager breaks the mold based on cooked books and then you need to hope you become the token employee so they can take you to meetings to hide what’s really going on.

Starts with current leadership opening the door, thinking they will keep their jobs. Then they will be shoved out the door and an Indian will be appointed. Then the Indian First agenda starts and another company becomes a shell.

AI really means: "Actually Indians"

They have been offshoring as many admin support positions as they can since I have been with the company, going on ten years at least. They really started to offshore & hire contractors in mass droves since 2022 up to date. All my team does anymore is fix the mistakes made by AI, offshore, and vendors. THAT IS ALL WE DO anymore. I don't anticipate there being many jobs left here very soon. In the long run, they will lose so many contracts that they will either try to sell or go under. Not good.
