@qa Exactly. Wait it out to find something else so you can leave on your terms. WHEN you get laid off after that Houston move, you won’t have any where to go because the other oil companies are doing the same thing- offshoring their jobs. You can already see the effects looking at job boards.
@qa every time you relocate you sell your house above market , buy with super low interest, all moving and packing is covered, multiple free weeks of vacation, pay raise and or promotions. Keep moving me please
Unless you want to live in Houston for non-Chevron reasons, you’d be an id--t to relocate under the current conditions at the company.
A lot of people who move in 2026 will be laid off by 2028

@OP Many of us are wondering the same. This is a move that affects our whole lives as well as our families to uproot them. Our families are waiting for the timing also. We can’t do anything about it but wait. After we find out it will be more waiting. What steps will you take when you do have an answer? Find another job? Kick off relocation? Decide between either?
I'm in Houston and I've been to all the toen halls, how can you not know?
Early in 2026 teams will be told they are moving with a target start date of Sept 1. Offices will be ready June 1 and people can move at their own pace. You will have to agree with your boss a move timeline in April. We have always enjoyed the move process and all the financial benefits - we typically net a new car out of it. We have moved between TX and CA a few times. Always drive because you get a week to do it, all expenses paid so a nice vacation for the family. SR>Vegas>Phoenix>Big Bend>Houston is nice when it's not too hot.
Moves will probably occur during summer 2026 as it’s easier to move during the summer when school is out. If they are planning to notify certain teams it is with this information. They probably do in groups as there is moving assistance tied with the move. Good luck to you.
Nobody knows what the he-l is going on right now. Not what needs to be done or when it will be done. Going to he-l. All leadership talks about is culture. Chevron culture is dead. I treat everything as if it is transactional now. Want me to do extra? What do I get out of it? Just a meets expectation, I will pass. Should have got that EOI button.
