Middletown, NY closed effective 1/1. Folks there had 8 days notice that they were going remote.
@ta True = happened to me had to get approval from MK to apply - don't live near a pulse point - high performer, it was just an exercise, they had NO intention of hiring someone who could do the job - someone in a pulse point t it, and a well known teacher pet - funny thing most of the people who report to this position are all virtual.
@pq Cant be promoted to Manager or higher when you are not near a pulse point . You will need SVP or higher approval - you might get it - but it won't matter - you won't get the promotion speaking from actual experience - you are also on the RIF list if needed. Again speaking from experience

All this closing and RIF chatter makes me glad I was given an “opportunity to pursue other endeavors”. I’m of the age where I was considering it anyway. Took the money and ran. Totally regret free.
@np If they are switched to remote, does that mean promotions, internal transfers and such will be negatively impacted?

How will we go to office if my office is closing, the next option is too far away?
