Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

I genuinely feel bad for those who are soon forced to use a half broken tool

The SUPER TOP SECRET ULTRA SECRET NDA project that everyone knows about called Maverick is getting close to it's official "roll out" live day and it's so far from ready that it's comical.

Sadly, many of you - specifically sales, ISG/CSG - are going to have the misfortune of "testing" it out. I know nothing about what these new tools are, what they are replacing (apparently DOMS is being "replaced" but that's been said for the last 20 years LOL) but I will say that you are all in for a horrible time when it goes live.

I think the deadline/go live date is mid May and so much of it is STILL being tested right now. Keep in mind the OG "go live date" was in February...

Godspeed my friends.

@qk ISG was always coming after CSG. When they pushed CSG back to this May ISG got pushed to the following quarter.

@kh Makes no sense for ISG to be the Guinea Pigs. ISG is far more complex than managing the keyboards, mice, monitors, and laptops of CSG

@n3 It might have been ISG who was pushed to August. I dont remember but, one of the SG's was pushed back to August.

The memo was sent in January I believe. Though, if you aren't part of the NDA then I don't believe you would have received it.

Let's be honest. A half broken tool is a major improvement for Dell.

When was this memo sent by JC saying that CSG will be pushed to August? Hearing nothing about this.

@fq lol NOTHING is on track with maverick dude. NOTHING. ISG will have the unfortunate duty to be the literal guinni pigs of this bs. CSG is marked and scheduled to utilize MAV in August...

At least that's what the last memo from JC stated, anyways.

@c2 You do realize that it's an extremely complex process to introduce a new tool into Dell - or any company - right? You don't just download it and install it and be done. New network routes and networks have to be created, VLANS have to be made, firewall rules obviously are vital and a LOT of firewall rules need to be made, damn near everything has to go through architectural and security review boards for approval. Then it's testing all that cr-p in dev environments and trust me, there is ALWAYS issues.

Nobody really knows what the tools are except maybe JC and those of his level and the DEVS of those tools, maybe. Obviously some people do but the vast majority of the 30k people part of this NDA on this stupid project have NO idea.

I know that Workday is going away in like a week or two, being replaced by an unknown tool that is mav related. I know that DOMS is "apparently" being retired and being replaced by a mav related tool and that's about all I know because none of the MAV bullsh!!!T affects me in any way. "SNOW" (Service NOW) is about the only tool we use.

And yes, the rollout WILL be terrible because there is a LOT more to it than just the "tools." The tools won't work very well if only half the internal network connections work, or aren't fully functional, or are unstable... Or the proper firewall rules aren't in place. The original "go live/rollout" date was this past February and it was pushed back to May. They are STILL fkng testing things as of today.

It'd be similar to if you built a computer and only have 4GB of RAM installed. Sure, a program might technically work but, barely... and very slowly, along with frequent crashes and "freezes" due to lack of resources (RAM.)

Imagine being in the middle of a quote with a client and when you go to submit it, 50% of the time nothing happens because the network connection from the program to the servers is half baked and majorly unstable.

MAV will primarily affect sales apps/tools, ISG/CSG, HR the most so, get ready because it's almost "go time."

@fq What track? You mean the track to nowhere, like the one in CA that doesn't exist even after $126B dollars? CA is such a scam toilet.

Anytime yiu name a marquee tool after a Tom (no Oscars) Cruise Character...you've already taken a bad path.

And yes...the "tool' is an absolute CF.

Moral is sooo low right now.

Project Maverick will be a shiitshow for all the world to see. It's been n internal shiitshow since it started. Horrible horrible leadership!

Zero execution
Zero accountability for dum--ss JC

We all had to take some BS "training" class a month or so ago and I learned a total of nothing. The training was terrible because it's NDA and they didn't want to show what tools are going to be introduced so we got a few power point slides to explain "what is happening." Dell also has no idea how to train anybody on whatever these new tools are, either.

There was no training and, I'm betting there will be some new required class to take end of April that does a half ath job of "training" you on the new tools.
