@c2 You do realize that it's an extremely complex process to introduce a new tool into Dell - or any company - right? You don't just download it and install it and be done. New network routes and networks have to be created, VLANS have to be made, firewall rules obviously are vital and a LOT of firewall rules need to be made, damn near everything has to go through architectural and security review boards for approval. Then it's testing all that cr-p in dev environments and trust me, there is ALWAYS issues.
Nobody really knows what the tools are except maybe JC and those of his level and the DEVS of those tools, maybe. Obviously some people do but the vast majority of the 30k people part of this NDA on this stupid project have NO idea.
I know that Workday is going away in like a week or two, being replaced by an unknown tool that is mav related. I know that DOMS is "apparently" being retired and being replaced by a mav related tool and that's about all I know because none of the MAV bullsh!!!T affects me in any way. "SNOW" (Service NOW) is about the only tool we use.
And yes, the rollout WILL be terrible because there is a LOT more to it than just the "tools." The tools won't work very well if only half the internal network connections work, or aren't fully functional, or are unstable... Or the proper firewall rules aren't in place. The original "go live/rollout" date was this past February and it was pushed back to May. They are STILL fkng testing things as of today.
It'd be similar to if you built a computer and only have 4GB of RAM installed. Sure, a program might technically work but, barely... and very slowly, along with frequent crashes and "freezes" due to lack of resources (RAM.)
Imagine being in the middle of a quote with a client and when you go to submit it, 50% of the time nothing happens because the network connection from the program to the servers is half baked and majorly unstable.
MAV will primarily affect sales apps/tools, ISG/CSG, HR the most so, get ready because it's almost "go time."
