Thread regarding Solventum layoffs

Final Layoff Numbers

Does anyone have an idea the final count of folks impacted across the entire layoff period (October - Jan)?

@2kd I saw the severance letter that lists titles of all those laid off. It lists how many are getting severance and yes only 8 are receiving anything from the last layoff. All older 3Mer's. It's not a big secret. (Nothing HR or management can do) Just ask anyone who was laid off and I'm sure they will share with you the HR emails.

@OP many laid off had to apply for a position within Solventum. Many got a new position. Some were automatically assigned positions without interviews (fair?, no)

@2d8 more than 8 people received severance pay. Where are you getting that number?

@2d8 hard to believe in this era that people didnt get a severance. They can likely sue and maybe win an age discrimination lawsuit. Shows Bryan is so over his head. And the numerous VPs like Heather that he hired.

What a cluster F

@2d8 good luck financing that new hybrid on $350 a month. Make sure it’s not older than a 2021 either!

@2d8 what teams? What roles?

@OP About 50 people let go Jan 2026, and approx. 90 people let go 12/31/25. Only 8 people received severance packages all Portfolio 1.

Just an FYI, management looks here trying to get info and seeing who they can identify and fire. Doug fired reps for complaining about the loss of company cars.

@mz That only applies to US based employees. Those outside of the US do not get that level of information.

@mz got happily laid off post Covid when I had already passed the threshold for pension and retiree medical support.

Got exactly what you said about a list. Generic job titles/levels. Ages. Don't remember gender but that may have been included. Don't think it included years of experience.

But it was clear the company wanted to purge the Portfolio 1 group but had to find enough "victims" at younger ages to make an age discrimination lawsuit tougher to win (HR did learn from the lawsuit after Mcnerney left 3M on age discrimination). Even remember a promising new hire who had worked in our department on an internship before getting a full time job. He got canned because he was told some 20 somethings had to go to "dilute" the numbers.

One thing's for sure. Bryan's cronies (Heather, etc.) Have jobs as long as he's around. This place has become a he11hole!

@mz In the first round of 800 layoffs, I was given that info only for people reporting up through a second line manager. Only about 3% of people laid off then.
This time, I heard someone in HIS commented that some people seemed to not return after holiday time off.

Anyone who was laid off in that time frame would have gotten that information in their layoff packet, along with job title and age.....they do this to prevent lawsuits.

@c0 That would be appr. the MedSurg number. There also have been layoffs in Dental and CRL. My guess is around 100.
