Only if you do it on company time.

I cranked my hog with my own pe---e discharge. Ended up blasting toxic rope all over a yard sale. You tell me… is that unforgivable?

@h4 don't forget P&C decided to take greater proportion of shared services expense dollars. Higher allocation from IT, Finance, HR, etc. Ergo, less G&A expense dollars allocated to the bank. It's an unsustainable paper profit - disappears once allocations are corrected in outyears. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Not sure why the kudos to Mike Moran for the bank being profitable this year, he’s gutted over 1k jobs this year (FTE & Contractors), the ones who have left the company those positions are not being backfilled.

The issue with Mike, he’s all about the balance sheet, and knows squat about running a bank. So when he leaves next year (he wasn’t Juan’s pick, that was Wayne) he’ll brag to his new employer on how he made USAA FSB profitable, but leave out the key details how he cut the workforce in half and those left behind will feel it 12 months from now.

I find it annoying at best that so much effort and money is spent on entertainment type videos to distract from the real messages. And people are eating it up.

This site is just a great number of disgruntled and entitled individuals who cannot find good in anything. Do us all a favor and quit. Truth is I believe deep down you know you will never be someone else’s treasure

It was a lot of money wasted flying everyone to Tampa, when a single article on Connect would’ve been just fine.

@bs it’s not arrogant, it’s honest

Every single CEO out there thinks and acts like this

They just mask it in fluff speak which needs to be decoded

Juan just comes right out and says it

Also he replaced the council with something else - he didn’t just get rid of it

It was ok, boring yes but not as boring as the prior employee meeting. The best line of the entire meeting was “I don’t need an executive council to do my job” which in a way was a f__k you to Wayne.

Hearing him mention how the bank is profitable this year, most bank employees know the reason for that, layoffs and not back filling positions when people leave to other areas or leave externally.

I liked it. I like the member focus. We’ve been so handcuffed with the consent orders. We’ve swung too far with our control environment. It’s one thing to prevent grandma from her account being hacked, it’s something else to have controls for every place data moves. I just question if we will be able to truly examine our processes and get rid of the old.

"I dont need an executive council" screams arrogance, maybe he can make all the decisions himself but it usually ends in disaster. Every smart leader needs smart people around them.

I liked it.

I actually like Juan's style a lot. Even the way he simply said "i don't need an executive council"

Maybe I'll take it all back and find out he laid me off in a month or something, but my initial impression is good

He has a demeanor that vibes with me a lot more than the modern HR corpo speak softness that we got from Wayne and Stewie

Like a stern grandpa from the 80s-90s.
