Is it anonymous?
Manager levels up referenced my global survey response to me but did not mention my name, he complaint about that person who wrote the bad review and saying that person should resign.

Do survey results matter? I don't think so after years of taking them. More a corporate check the box activity.
They don’t know names, but they can see race, location, level….so it’s easy to narrow down who said what.
Anonymous? LOL! Remember the supposedly confidential Ethics Line? You know, that one where illegal cross-selling was reported, and the folks who reported in good faith were then terminated?

I used this process to get a severance package.
Management thought they were getting back at me by severing my employment, but actually I had played them to get what I wanted.
- managers are given all of the written comments verbatim associated with their surveys. not identified by name, but it's pretty easy sometimes to figure out who wrote what because of the way it's written or the specific circumstances described. Be careful what you write people!
- the survey itself is confidential, not anonymous. there is the ability to track to the individual, but it is not done routinely in the results given the manager (I.e. managers do not get person-by-person results of who rated what)
- if there is something in the comments that is considered either a threat of violence or specific allegation (or admission) of illegal activity or conduct violation then they will trace to the individual and an investigation is opened. the investigation is not conducted by the manager and the manager may or may not know the investigation is happening, depending on the type of investigation.
It is anonymous UNLESS you put comments in there that are considered a potential allegation. Then it becomes confidential, not anonymous. If that occurs, they can request the company who receives the results and provides them to WF to provide who submitted the survey so that they may follow-up with the submitter to gather additional information. However, it should be Conduct Investigations who reaches out to the individual, which is part of HR now. In turn, Investigations may also need to speak to other individuals they believe may have pertinent information as well or individuals named in the comments to interview them as well. The name of the person who made the actual or potential allegation via the survey will remain confidential to those outside of Investigations. This is why those of you who write about situations in the comments that qualify as potential allegations will get unmasked to the company and contacted.
If the grammar in your survey notes was as bad as that evidenced here, trust me when I say you were easy to identify,

Use copilot to rephrase it to a neutral tone/voice so the writing style cannot be tied to you.
They are anonymous and confidential...to most. If HR wants, they can dig in to find those details. Most managers do not have that access. You do need to be careful though if you're on smaller teams because it can be easy to deduce who submitted certain comments.
The survey is not anonymous or confidential. 3 people on our team wrote about a toxic work environment in 2023 and we were all contacted by corporate HR. They told me they can pull the surveys if needed.
They say anonymous, but I don't believe it.
It is anonymous. But, when there is a bad review, there will be a manhunt to find out who wrote it.
When they ask you, make sure you lie and tell them you gave them all 5's. If you blurt out that it was you, you will be canned in the near future.
In 2021-2025 I blasted my management team and nothing happened. I fully believe that they know someone wrote something but not who. I am going to put them on blast again this year! Especially the chubby one

Never write anything in your survey you wouldn't be comfortable signing your name to.
The one year I unloaded on the survey I got laid off the next year. Definitely not anonymous.
