So painful to hear her parrot Eliza
uses AI to send Xmas cards!! genius
@jq C'mon. Give her a break. She's learning how to be CIO thru OJT. RV recognized her as an 'up and comer.' problem solver of big problems at scale at Exxon Mobil in Ireland.
But remember, just because she's been to an offshore oil rig, that doesn't qualify her as an expert in the Oil and Gas industry. Likewise, saying AI, AI, AI 10x fast doesn't qualify her as a CIO.
That would be like you standing in your garage and then announcing your qualifications as a car or a garage mechanic!
Unfortunately, she has more latitude and can get away with it more easily than you can.
How is it that a VP hired in technology is asked to have 5-10 years in finance /banking, but someone with 0 years in financial services, coming from the oil industry, can be hired as CIO?
It has been said many times before here, the BNY executives are a collection of mediocre individuals who had to exit other companies for their insignificant vision and inadequate leadership in a crowd of other true executives.... who would never dream of working at BNY Mellon. What brilliant visionary in the world aspires to work at BNY Mellon? Just a collection of people who play the corporate game for a few years, collect checks, can't move the needle, then go someplace else (Like Wells Fargo) to do that same thing in the churn there.
A key requirement to be in C suite here is some connection to Europe with higher weightage to UK. She passed that test and now at that level. She will hang around for another 3 - 4 years to get the sign on bonus RSUs vest and look out for another place
d-mb and d-mber
She is just clueless on what the org does.
But at the same time, she is smart because she keeps on parroting “AI AI AI AI AI” and that’s what her boss want to hear.
Fake it until you make it.
