@j5 when you are salaried the expectation is for longer hours to "get it done" even if that includes weekends...

Be aware that Microsoft Teams tracks EVERYTHING you do on your PC. This is widely known.

This doesn’t apply to all areas. I’ve been monitored on and off my entire career with Humana depending on timing and department.

@j5 If what you say is indeed true, then I think very early on more transparency should have occurred where what you said was made more common knowledge to all associates.

For salary associates, it would have reduced their stress level, especially those with ADHD, would not have feared that every single minute of their day was being watched by “big brother” and that they needed to account for every minute of their day, which could have adversely impacted and impaired their cognitive innovative capabilities.

For hourly associates, letting them know they are constantly being monitored would assist them to know where they stand in the eyes of the company and help ensure the honest remain honest in their daily work ethics and how they spend their time.

As an aside, I think it is only fair that middle management on Associate Director & Director level under go a certain level of oversight from above them that scrutinizes more closely as to how they spend their time and day, week in and week out.

Salaried employees aren’t monitored ever. They’re paid for a body of work not dependent on hours worked. As for hourly employees, they’ve been monitored for years, at least since 2018. They can see everything you do.

One thing I think perhaps has not been thought of, or at least hope it has been, is that medical studies have been done where too long of screen time, with little to no breaks, can cause vision issues and can lead to migraine headaches.

Leaders of employees, please ensure your employees are allowed, without penalty, to take breaks to get away from the computer screen. And maybe ensure they have at least one single hour meeting a day to get a complete hour long break from intensively looking at the screen.

Expecting anyone to look intently at a computer screen for 8+ hours a day, 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year, is tantamount to torture.

@OP - They've been doing that since I e been there. I'm sure some people took advantage of working at home and ruined it for those of us who actually work. I agree with other posts, hopefully this extends to upper management also!

@d7 Oh good, then you being closely monitored and having every second of your day scrutinized, just as it has been for non-leader associates for years, should not be an issue for you whatsoever. So, very glad to hear it!

They have been monitoring we do everything since I started here and probably even longer. They accused a coworker of having a mouse jiggler too. I cover all cameras. I have nothing to hide but I don't need some creep watching me in my home. They are honing in on keystrokes and idle times. Gotta make sure the people who are doing all the hard work get micromanaged and no raises. Must find something to fire them for. I would love to see how long the ceos and the other useless bunch actually sit at their desk...but get giant bonuses for making us feel like garbage. I would love to see them take a few calls 🤣 good luck. Take your metrics and choke on them.

@ab I think they have only been monitoring the “worker bees.” Using the Directors and Associate Directors as some sort of “Hall Pass Monitors.”

Someone really needs to monitor these lazy Directors that have not worked a real hard day’s work in ages.

What is good for the goose is good for the gander!

SERVICEFUND DEPARTMENT DIRECTORS

Hopefully they pushed the monitoring software out to the Servicefund Department Director’s computers and Associate Director’s computers and will watch them like a hawk. About time they did some real work.

Serves them right after how they have heartlessly and cruelly pushed out very good people in the past (those with a good heart and eagerness to help others, in addition to their own work).

Those same Directors do not deserve any mercy or grace, for they shown none for others who were depended and relied upon their continued growth with the company.
