Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

I feel sick thinking about tomorrow

I am getting to the point I'd rather be unemployed for some time than having to log in every day, man I really think I'm gonna quit soon, no matter what.

If that's your biggest concern then you're doing alright.

More of the same sole destroying tripe today! We’ve just rolled out a new account request process… and somehow it still relies on emails to get the job done. There’s a 5-page induction guide! FFS.

This is exactly the problem. There is no drive to streamline. This should all be in one portal, and the instruction should as simple as - it's in the portal. Here's the link!

I am one of those people off sick. TBF DXC is still stuck in my head. Oh did that justify another month off. Yes it did! Obviously it is only really for those of us who would rather just be laid off now, and are not planning to move to a new employer for more of the same. Take yourself out of being useful and needed, and they cannot say we need you because clearly they don't, but just for whatever reason seem reluctant to go through the process no matter how many times you apply. I'm not proud of it, but I get nothing out of this company. They will drive you into your grave if you let them. Taking yourself out of it by whatever means are available seems a perfectly reasonable response.

@hr 100% the most important thing is your physical and mental health. None of this BS matters. The clients don't notice faults. Deadlines are just dates someone made up. Success is a 0% rise. Failure is just noise you can learn to ignore.

Quiet quitting is the key. Do the bare minimum, keep quiet, do your timesheet and plan for the future. Putting up with bullying managers (those that are still around whose egos are so big they can’t stay quiet). Picking on easy targets all day is BS but the main purpose for most. I know people off ill with stress and management are nowhere to be seen. The cr*p just falls to the next ‘resource’.
The most important thing is your health so look after yourself as DXC do not care.

@cf Maybe even smarter. Really do work for yourself. Run a self employed job which is flexible enough to sit alongside your flexible DXC job. Eventually you get to the point you don't even need the DXC role. But might as well take the money until it becomes difficult to do both. You know which your going to choose to let go if need be. You know which one shows and values your true talent. It's not DXC status reports and begging for approval to do the job they say they want doing - but then block the moment you start!!

Shift your mindset.

View your salary as the financial sponsorship for your job hunt. You’re being paid to find your way out.

Do enough to keep the check then give the rest of your workday to your future. Your real fulltime job is finding your next employer. Clock in for the paycheck and work for the exit. Treat every workday as a paid session to polish your resume, hunt for openings and rack up certifications. You aren't "working" for DXC. You’re working for yourself to find a better company that actually deserves your talent. Quietly outgrowing a place that doesn't value you is far more satisfying than any confrontation.

Remember the ultimate power move is silence. No complaints, no drama, no noise, no resignation. Simply focus on the steady and quiet transition to a better career and a better life.

Anyone reading this and thinking “Wait, what? DXC is a good company!”. Yes and no. The serious issue for us who are over 45 (including me!) is that we are stuck. We have not had a payrise in YEARS despite the cost of living rising and the inflation increasing, and if we leave we cannot get a job elsewhere because of ageism as well as the job economy is terrible. I know a few ex DXC employees who have been unemployed for almost two years and are working as FedEx/DHL delivery drivers or Uber drivers to make ends meet. That is the honest hard truth.

Same. I've been staring at the screen for 30 minutes already. Cannot force myself to put in the credentials.

They just want us to quit. They haven't factored in that 20 years of no pay rises means we are determined to stay and get a pay out now. Another year or 3 makes little odds. We won't be moving onto another job. Basically most of us haven't had one or done much for years. DXC is a sinking ship. Just it's taking longer than most ever expected.

I dont mind filling out forms and just waiting as the useless managers won't process things. I love the DXC bueraracy.

Salvino said he was taking out the layers 5 years ago, but its actually got worse.

Login. Set mouse on the wiggler. Do something far more interesting and useful. Which is basically anything including watching paint dry. Why are we still here. There is no useful work to be done around here....
