Just heard they are moving the corporate offices to Nashville, TN
This is being driven by lower costs in TN and the overall strategic shift to prioritize Healthspring

@1zg I’ll take a 10 lane highway over crazy and dangerous.
@5nd somehow- Elvis might actually be an improvement
@5hb Elvis will make his grand comeback and be the next CEO. I have an inside source
@5hb it’s a complete fiction
Does anyone have any updates on this? I only here chatter about the sites they are closing.
@1xv better weather!? Yea who doesn't love 105 degree summers woo!
Better commutes is hilarious. Maybe sitting in a 10 lane highway feels quick to YOU, but I think most people would hate that over a robust public transportation system.
It would make far more sense to consolidate everything in Texas. Better weather, lower taxes, and shorter commutes are hard to beat. While I doubt full headquarters consolidation will happen anytime soon, it would be one of the most effective ways to fix corporate culture.
Our massive cash reserves already show we don’t need all these buildings. COVID proved that WFH can be more productive for many roles, and now we’re back in the office having Teams calls with people sitting just five feet away. At this point, it’s perfectly normal to hear a dog barking or kids in the background during meetings.
Personally, I’m grateful our corporate overlords embraced remote work. I get more done at home, and I suspect a lot of others do too.
@jc only two things come from Texas, and I don't see any horns on you
@hs only reason would be for for a reduction in corp tax of being headquartered in IL v TN...guessing TN more favorable from a corp tax perspective...hence all large orgs moving from states like NY, CA,and IL...
@hc lol they don’t know anything just like everyone else here
@ht way more queers or losers in Chicago (QOL)
@ee Nashville has a worse violent crime rate than Chicago and Tennessee has a significantly worse QOL than Illinois.
They aren't moving HQ for one person, that would be bizarre.
Was Akovenko's promotion announced? How do you know?
@ef wait we actually have an operations team?
Is this the abyss where process problems and ideas to fix things go to die?
This all makes sense. Josh Akovenko, who will be President of Operations in June is also in Nashville.
@e8 one less person to eliminate. TN is one of the best states to live in
I’d rather lose my job than move to Nashville
Corp tax rate in Nashville is 6.5, v 9.5 in Chicago.. huge savings
@cr follow the news over the next 6 months….
Yup this is a BS post --- HCSC has a Nashville office from the Cigna Medicare acquisition. They're not moving HCSC Corp HQ to Nashville!
He would be a fool to abandon Chicago for fu--ing Tennessee. Lord have mercy on us if they go through with something that id--tic
I heard Mr. Maurice is getting the IL HQ as a bonus in addition to his 34 million salary.
And he’s moving it to Nevada.
Holy cow people! We bought Health Spring from Cigna, hence we now have a Nashville office! Use your brain!
Who is making all this BS up? THIS IS NOT TRUE PEOPLE.
🙄
Doubtful. Maurice is beholden for too much to the city and state.
