Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Timing of 2026 layoffs?

Do we have an idea of timing for this “leaner workforce”? Will it be slow throughout the year or a big hit in January?

@jf we were told VRP will not be an option anymore. We were also warned “jobs”’within our group will be impacted.

Next VRP will happen in early January and be completed by 4/1. Then if not enough people accept it (and more business units are eligible this round ie tech) there will be additional JEs. Then in 18-24 months when the “tech” fails because they never gathered business requirements and instead let tech decide what to develop, they will realize they need humans to make the tech work, there will be a hiring frenzy. If you’ve been around for any length of time you have seen this in play time and time again.

@hc

Probably not. That'd cost them more money and would not let them control who gets chopped.

Maybe they start with another VRP offer before going to eliminations?

Early Q1. No one (except the executives) is safe.
