Are there any Imperial executives who actually think a move to Edmonton is a great idea?

@sj No I’m just pointing out that you said two completely contradictory things.
@sj "Why are you complaining about constructive dismissal on a layoff board?? Just buck-up babies!"
Thanks for your life story. Congrats on loving Sherwood Park, which explains why you don't see any difference versus the other places you listed.
No one is saying Imperial owes anyone anything, in any city. The reality is that half of those at QP will be voting with their feet and staying in Canada's actual energy capital, which is clearly the correct decision.
@q2 holy Sh&&, are you this thick? My base is Edmonton but Ofcourse I have moved for different roles. Or are you trying to strawman the argument. No one owes you a job in city of your choosing.
@nd This guy: "I have lived my entire life in Edmonton."
Also this guy: "I was in Sarnia for 3 years, in Calgary for 5 and in Baton Rouge for 3"
So which is it lol?
@kk I haven't lived my entire life in one place. I was in Sarnia for 3 years, in Calgary for 5 and in Baton Rouge for 3. So don't give the BS I don't know what it is to upend my family. All I was getting at was that I did not find living in Sherwood park(Edmonton) any better or any worse than those places. No one owes you a job in city of your choosing.
Don't move then; stay in Calgary.
Don't act like someone has a g-n to your head. It's a choice for you to make depending on your needs and circumstance.
@h2 Great to hear that compared to Baton Rouge, with one of the worst crime rates in the USA, and Sarnia, with the worst air/soil/water qualities in Canada, that Edmonton is "just fine". Really set the bar high.
People don't want to upend their families' entire lives for zero justification. You don't understand since you've lived your entire life in one place and don't need to move. You're not even making any case for your home city... which speaks volumes.
I am getting real sick of people griping about move to Edmonton. If you don't like it, you have a choice not to come. I have lived my entire life in Edmonton. I was in Baton Rouge, Calgary, and Sarnia. don't see what the big fuss is about. I disagree with the reasons they are giving for the move but Edmonton is just fine.
@d5 Of course they have to say that to quell the commons' grumbles, but in reality they will spend essentially zero days in Edmonton. The "advocacy" office in Calgary will act as their primary office.
VP calls today confirmed that they all will be co located in Edmonton
@af this is true… lol
The executives don't care, they're not moving. A small satellite office will remain in Calgary for them. You think there will be board meetings at Strathcona?
Edmonton is great. House prices are way cheaper.
Honestly, moving from Calgary to Edmonton is the dream. I mean, who doesn’t want to trade mountains for potholes?
