New Account Push at Branches

We are back to pushing new accounts for anyone that walks into the branches. “Leadership” is pushing for anyone that walks to leave with new credit card, new savings account , new checking accounts, mortgage and investment referrals without asking the customer their true needs. Back to the old culture as if it ever left.

Oh no question about it. I have about 110 banker visits a month but like 80 of those at least are appointments

Yeah, no doubt this is going to land the company in the same trouble it was in before when they pushed solicitation.

@fn If you're in a branch that has a high volume of customers, that's why.

But that is not the same experience that most other branches have.

If you tell me what your district is, I can show you how your success is coming from having a large number of branch visits and appointments. Based on what you're telling me with how you interact with customers at least.

I’ve done 15 cc’s a month since October and haven’t received one single complaint from customers. I’m simply offering the products to almost everyone I sit with after qualifying the need and then if they say no, cool. If I’m consistent I’ll get enough yes’s. Anyone putting hardcore pressure on customers isn’t gonna be successful.

@fd yea I guess your right. The recent customer complaints about being pressured into opening unwanted accounts and closing in them the next month, the employees complaining about how a customer said they dont want or need a 3rd WF credit card but bankers still feel pressured sell get them to open it anyway, and the OP experience with it, are all lying, right genius??

Omg people are calling ethics line on this?! Saying what? Just that they’re feeling too much pressure? There’s really no way to open unauthorized accounts anymore and even if you did, there’s no way to benefit from them.

Fake news, if someone is pushing you as hard as you say, get it in writing, print the email and take the email home. Then when you are let go you’ll have a nice retirement package.

Seeing more of this coming thru the Ethics line, not surprising given the reg oversight cat gone and mouse at play now

This is extremely true. And if your current branch isn’t doing this…you’re in for a wake up call.
