How do you know if it's 50+ people? Any ideas if they got everyone or is it something they're still looking at?

@jq the 50+ people it happened to this week would love to let you know exactly what happened, without warning
I’m not doing anything at the office other than stuff on my laptop from now on. No more in-person meetings, no more lunch with colleagues, no more coffee chats, no more BRG meetups. Everything stops today. You can find me at my desk reading my kindle in between meetings and when I’m done with my work. Every single second I’m at my desk, you better believe my laptop is open and my teams status is green ha! No culture for me! I’m here for the paycheck and healthcare.
@qp Different teams work on different projects and have different goals. Just because one team can’t get UD to work doesn’t mean all teams don't know what they are doing. HR or the team they are working with may know what they’re doing.
@OP discouraged to spend extra effort face to face, message received! Funny how people spend time on the culture council planning cookie exchanges and book clubs and wonder why no one participates
They can’t even get UD to work properly…they need to prioritize their focus
@pq 100% this. That is all they legally have to do since everyone has to do the dose of business mandatory training.
That said they may not technically/legally be able to actually do anything about it until the deadline for taking the training passes even if an associate completed it and sill coffee badges constantly.
They are looking at mouse jigglers too for folks who want to look like they’re available on teams when they step away. I was recently let go and my in office averages were 3.7 and I had good performance reviews. They are monitoring more than you know.
@q3 Yes it is, after seeing that post I took the training just to see if it was true.
Is that in the new set of training courses?
For those who can read between the lines — this year’s TIAA Code of Business Conduct training includes a scenario about ‘coffee badging’ and clearly identifies it as inappropriate behavior. When you click the ‘acknowledge’ button at the end, you’re affirming that you understand this conduct is unacceptable and that you shouldn’t engage in it.
Now, let’s assume for a moment the rumors about monitoring are true. If that’s the case, could your acknowledgment of that training be referenced later if your behavior doesn’t align with what you agreed to?
@p7 several people… you mean you commented several times pretending to be several different people?? rofl
@p7 you posted the original post, and then you replied “it’s true, unfortunately, 30 people let go” to your own post, both accidentally? Why are you replying to your own post acting like you’re a different person? Did you post the original post on fidelity that showed up around the same time as the one here, or the “it’s true, 30 people” reply pretending like you’re a commenter? Or both? First day on the internet?
@p0 I posted it on the Fidelity website by mistake....I thought I was on the TIAA page. You can believe what you want. Stop all this detective work...There are several people commenting it's true and I know for a fact it's true!!
@p0 hahaha not sus at all. Good eye!
- Most were fired and others are under review.
- It is your choice to believe if it is a rumor.
- Regarding following up to questions.. maybe the persons were busy...chill...if you are that concern....just stay at the office at least 6 hours.
FYI for anyone reading: check out the Fidelity page of this same website where you’ll find a suspiciously identical post made around the exact same time with the same (6 month review, 2 hour minimum, 30 people let go) “insider info” claim. Quite a coincidence I’m sure!
@nm how. convenient
Can you at least confirm if they were fired or was it just a warning?
@nh nobody on here wants to risk accidentally doxxing themselves. This is obviously a sensitive HR manner… The rumors are true but it’s happening to my coworker…not to me…so I’m not going to put anything that can betray that trust. I’m sure others feel the same way…
Funny how when people here ask clarifying questions the ones who claim that the rumor is true suddenly go silent.
So the employee wasn't fired? What were the repercussions, just a warning? What excuse did the employee give?
@ka does this mean that if they were logged onto the VPN for a long time, that they were working from home mostly? I don’t log onto the VPN at all, neither from home nor at the office. I’m wondering how this would affect people like me?
@by It is not bull...I was in a meeting with HR...we had to put one of our employees on a written warning...they use different methods...including tracking VPN log on:how long the employee was logged on his VPN. Just because you have not experienced the reports, yet, does not mean you are the queen of Truth!
As someone who has coffee-badged since 2023, staying in the office an average of 10 minutes 3-days a week for 3 years straight, only getting 3s, no promotions or raises the entire time… I’ve never been called out a single time for this. My manager is in Frisco, and I’m in Charlotte. She doesn’t see me coffee-badging, nor does she care unless it could make her look bad. I’m not worried. In fact, I think this a fake rumor someone started to incite panic. TIAA isn’t tech forward enough to track coffee-badging behavior. I’m not the only one who does it, and the others are all still here. I’d recommend everyone who’s freaking out because some immature liar thinks it’s funny to make stories up, just relax and keep doing good work even if your butt isn’t glued to an office chair. If they want to fire you for not adhering to a nonexistent policy, hire a lawyer and get TIAA to show you in court where you signed a contract agreeing to stay in the office for more than 2 hours a day, 3 days a week. They can fire you for any reason, yes, but we can make sure they regret that decision afterward.
@ef it is true. I did not sign up for any of those things. Had a meeting with manager and HR after getting a very good performance review. I was asked why I was coming to the office for two hours. Was not provided with the data that they have. Don’t believe the times I met with colleagues in the office for “culture” counted for anything if not on computer
Any managers on here can confirm if this is true or not?
@dm that’s your own fault for registering your license plate and installing corporate software on your personal phone. I’m in NYC, not a single one of us drives to the office. I also would never install a badge swiping app from any employer onto my personal phone. If you’re implying that since none of us drive and most of us are too smart to swipe from our phones, they’re going to fire everyone? And no, I don’t have outlook or teams on my phone. If they want my butt in a seat at least 3 days a week, then I’m not working outside of 9am-5pm.
The amount of false rumors on this site is pure comedy. Thank you all for the entertainment
@dv did your manager ever have a convo prior addressing concerns or setting expectations
@dw lol the company is full of bs doesn’t mean not true
Smells like BS to me- they cant even track the 3 days a week attendance properly
It's true unfortunately- I was let go last week. Not sure how many else were affected but had a meeting with manager and HR and I had to resign due to not adhering to the office requirements. I think it's a way to reduce headcount. Oh well.
What dept are you in? IT? Wealth?
Is it straight termination or just being PIP'd /warning? Sounds extreme to me to do so without a warning. Did you get an email or did HR setup a meeting with you directly on the people that arent staying at the office full time?
@dk As a manager how many hours did you tell your employee to be in the office? Did you ever give them a warning before terminating a good performing person? Typically people that perform well will follow what you tell them to do.
Why do you think they put up the license plate readers coming in and out of each entrance? Why do you think they want badging done from your phone? It's not for your convenience. They want to know where you are on campus all day. They want to know the moment you leave
@d0 it’s not a rumor. I’m going through this with an employee right now. Termination is on the table regardless of job performance.
@b8 is each person being evaluated or all fired last week?
